Does the stock seat have a full length plastic pan? Side to side, front to back? I'm talking with a cycle seat company about making my Apex seat firmer, and they want to know about the pan. I don't want a Boss, because I like the oem rear stoorage.

i had some seat issues with my 06...got a new 07 cover and i had my upholstery guy pull the new material tighter.

this helped alot with those dreaded wrinkles we all got with too soft of seat and material that wouldnt come back after sitting along ride.

well, the BONUS i noticed was the fact that my seat feels stiffer then any other apex ive sat on now...its even abit stiffer then an 07 rtx....you might want to just try this method, have it pulled tighter, and some felt material put onto edging to help save edges.

mine looks and feels awesome, with near 3000 miles now!

Dan or anybody else. Can you tell me how the seat pan is shaped? Is the pan upswept at the rear? Is the stoorage area a full 4 sided box or is some of the foam exsposed in the stoorage area? I can't look at mine for a while. I had stomach surgery yesterday and am out of working order for a while. The seat company is asking me this. Thanks, rr.

If you don't mind, who did your seat work for you?

Here are some pictures of the seat pan, the storage area is a box in the plastic pan, plastic on all sides.

Great pics Wizard. They are a big help. A few more ?'s to you or anybody. The cover is stapled on correct? Does the cover come right off once the staples are out, or is there any type of retaining it to the upward slant of the box front? Like a flap of vinyl with a retainer or a strap sewn to the cover with a retainer. I'm asking all this to get more info to the seat modding company.

No retaining ring that I could find, all staples. Looks like anywhere from a 1/2" to 1" worth of extra material just rolled over the edge and stapled all the way around.
