i have no luck...after getting my fuel programmer for my sled i put on 200 miles this weekend and after a brief smoke brake half way threw the day yesterday i noticed a tickin noise when i started the sled back up and remained to have it the rest of the day, also have a backfire when i let off the throttle. sounds like i have an exhaust leak. i figure maybe its the donuts or y pipe since that is a common problem with these and i have just put my sled past the 4000 mile mark. wonder if anyone knows how much it cost to get this fixed and is it a big deal to keep riding it. i was always a polaris guy but bought a yamaha to avoid always having problem and it seems i cant put a 100 miles on without something going wrong
i love the sled the motor runs amazing but i am fed up and might be selling after the fix!!!!

Its probaly a broken y pipe. Mine had the same thing happen to it.The y pipe is 150 and the donuts are 22 each. Takes a couple of hours and your good to go.
Every sled manfacturer has problems.
Yamaha Attak/Apex weakest points are : y pipes, sliders, skis and handwarmers and thats it. Motor seems to last forever.
Try to find a 900 Fusion with 10 000 miles without a rebuild.

Fret not my friend, ive been in the same boat after my donuts n y pipes went bad, spendy fix as i went with hauck y pipes and gutted the exhaust. The first time i had it out after i blew all my rear axle idler wheels
upgraded to to 2010 ones took it out today and it reminded me why its worth it to wrench on. 4000 mile mark is a tuff phaz for the apex, get past it an i hear it will last for ever. Either that or u could push it off the trailor an get a new one

you bought the hauck headers that are $500? i have the hauck loud exhaust and was thinking about getting them in the summer. i just got new sliders and railcaps they where so worn out it was ready to rip my track apart. got new skis awhile ago, handwarmers quit when i installed handlebar risers, had to install polaris boggy wheels, chain came lose in my chaincase after getting that fixed it will still make a grind noise vary rarely tho. and there is probably a few other things i cant think of at the moment. and now of course this lol. to top it all off at the begining of the season i hit a big rock under the snow in 2 feet of powder and had to get whole new bulhead and heat exchanger ect. ect. there was 3 grand damage, thank god for insurance. its been a pretty bad season but after all the repairs the sled is like brand new.

it says on there site head pipes 500 bucks. thats what your talking about right the pipes that come right off the motor. and thats about what iv spent on assesories and repairs and have a big list of upgrades for the summer also lol. my buddies rx1 has 18000 miles on it so i think 4000 is still low. does anybody know if its alright to drive still with it being like that cuz if i got to order the pipes now its most likely the end of my season. will 200 or 300 miles be bad for it?
If you are planning on new y-pipes, then go ahead and drive it. Just know that it will probably damage the y-pipes.

My pipes went around 4K. Wheels went at 6K. that's it now at 8K.
I don't think rideing with a loud exhust will harm it. My buddy has been riding all season with his.
I did the pipes myself. It's easy and could be done in a day if you have all the parts.
Pipes used to be $100 each or $200 for the pair and donuts and gasket for pipes totals around $300.
