Is there a trick in getting the wheels off the shaft and gettiing the bearings out. They seem harder than most of the ones I have changed in the past. All I did before was tap the wheels off the shaft, put the wheel in a vise and tap the bearing out but it is not working for these. Can't get the wheels off the shaft..

I had to use a press to get the bearings off the shaft and then push the bearings out of the wheels. I then pressed new bearings into the wheels and was able to tap them on to the shaft with a soft mallet.

I had to use a press to remove the upper wheels when I change mine to billet wheels. They need quite a bit of pressure so almost any auto shop in your area should do it for you for a few bucks, it is nice that they are on there own seperate shaft that you can take with you easily.

I just took the circlips out and pounded the plastic wheels off, left the bearings on the shaft. Cleaned em out, repacked with fresh grease, and put it all back together.

I think you mean Bogey's? With the sled on the ground loosen the left bolt then tighten. Loosen Right bolt and take out. Take out left bolt. Bogeys and shaft should come right out. They have thread locker on them so they can come hard. Shaft may spin while loosening. That's why to loosen one side at a time to loosen loctite and keep shaft from spinning.

I just Cut a broom handle, used a heavier hammer, pounded the shaft, found the upper Idler wheels came right off. and with the Oak wood broom handle it wont damage anything. Popped the seal off the bearings, flushed out the greese. repacked them with Amsoil water resistant greese. good to go for the season.

been using the amsoil greese in the idler wheels for a few years. have had a pile of success. Use it alot on airplanes with Amphib floats. water from the lakes and oceans like to wash the greese out of those wheels. seems like the only greese that holds up decent. So been using it for 5 years on sleds, havent replaced a bearing yet. Do it from bran new.

just my 2 cents.
