I am getting my two rear shocks on my 2007 FX revalved with a progressive setup. What should I have them do to the rebound??
Any general advice form those who have done this??
I am having "Shock Tech" from Bethel Maine do this. They are very experianced with shocks, but i do not think that they have done any Phazer shocks.
I weigh 165lbs and like to ride agressive. I am looking to get better small bump response and keep the bottoming resistance i have now.

my boss did mine were in mass. hes a master with shocks. all u have to do is talk to hime about what u want and he can usaly get it spot on first time. i ride on one click from softest setting now and i ride pretty whoped trails and no bottoming and the stutter bumps feel like they arent even there any more.
getting a fusion front track shock spring makes a big diff too. its multi rate. 130/210 i think and a phazer is a 180 straight rate. so small bumps feel soft but when u hit somthing bigger u can feel it form soft to hard and just suck it up without a bottoming.
rebound does need to be speed up. i think he did like 20% faster on mine i think. might be more tho i cant remeber.

i dont think your gonna get much of anything for response. most people that have their shocks revalved dont know what they shock guy has done. and most shock guys keep what they did to them self so that not every one can just do it. if who ever is doing your shocks is good they should be able to test where the shock is stock and with info from u make the improvements from their.

Thanks 725, someting people have to relize is that this is what some people do for a living, such as Carver, spending some time getting the shocks valved right.
by the time someone like Dave takes his skid out 3-4 times tears the shocks down with fluid and time. He would have been miles ahead just sending them to the guy that set the standard for yamaha. I post this to try to help guys out so they dont have to "beat around the bush" I never like hearing bad storys, only possitive so there for, I risk my judgement, and thats the last thing I want. So If I recomend someone or some thing it's only because I eather been there done that or know for a fact that is the situation.
Dave I am sure you are looking for the sod after valve stack he uses? How ever your never going to get someone to flat out give it to you the right anwser, Sorry Bud.

i had my boss do mine insted of sending them to carver for 2 reasons. first hes the sencond polaris race suport contact listed in the polaris race sled manuals. goes polairs factory race suport then bruce gaspardi at south side sales. have been for 8 years. so he knows shocks and clutching inside and out. second it was free for me. one of the perks of working for him. another was the chance to go to the x games with him and spend the days in the pits and stay at his condo for free. only had to pay for plane ticket and gas and food. lol.

725 that is a nice "Perk" you got there! I just want people to understand the fact if you dont know something its WIZE to take it from a good source and just get it done.

Shock valving is also something that other than basics comes down to opinion as to how well its done depending on what you like.Nobody has it perfect.I know on mine where its set I never bottom hard even on jumps.Put a heavier guy on there and it will bottom just sitting there.
Imagine the variables.
