Looks like my testing will be waiting. My oil tank is leaking from the bottom. I will try to repair it and ride it tomorrow.

Took it out for a quick ride on ice so I can not really tell what the rpms are going to do as I could not open it up. I did stab the throttle once and it hit the rev limiter. Saturday will be the telling day I just hope the over reving does not hurt me.
wish we had some snow here so I could really test it before the deep snow day.

Glad to hear you got it together!

Me too I can ride!!! It definately has more snap I think I will be satisified for a while until it's time to get something new. I think I will be going to a multi angle helix and I am sure I will have to throw some weight at it.

what air box mod did you do?
will the mod require a tuneing box pc5?
I am running vector excell header under tunnel w/micron muffler
other then that its stock

I did hauck modded lid just because of budget. You would get the most from the k&n setup. I did not really want to go that route. I think you would benefit from the power commander 5 in the form you are in now but definately with any air box mod you need it. Rick with oft certainly can take care of you!! I cant say enough about the convience of making one call and discussing the direction I wanted to go.

Rode it today in some heavy wet snow. I definately can open it to full throttle as it hits the revlimiter. It would seem that that initial shift out it will rev to 9400 then shift and would drop. But anytime I needed throttle just bounced of rev limiter.
2 conclusions I have I need to add weight but which hole and how much. With the more aggrevise shift of the primary and the secondary still having the 39 degree helix I am think I should have a little more aggresive shift in the secondary as well. So a multi angle helix 45-39? or 43-39 any thoughts?

I've got a Apex helix you can borrow to try out that's a 51 43. That with a white spring might help.

certainly could not hurt to try it. I just hate there is no snow here and i have to drive and hour to get somewhere that I can ride it.

I have hesitaton from idle to full throttle stab. Does not matter if I am stopped and hit it or in the snow and let off then back on. It is only for a second then it is fine.
Rick I know you said to try Cos but one where is the wire and two doesn't the map in powercommander trump that? Seems like I should be able to hook the lap top to it and make an adjustment but what adjustment??
Thank you

The lime green wire is located by the ground wire in the nose of the subframe. Ground it out and you can enter the co's via the onboard diagnostics and play with your bottom end fuel.
It can be adjusted through the Pcv if your willing to play with it.

Kind of puzzling rode yesterday I did not make any adjustments and I did not have the hesitation that I experienced last weekend. We did not get into the hills this weekend as we had a brad new rider with us so we just rode the swamps much lower elevation. Could the hesitation actually be too much fuel?
I was for improved fuel range with the new mods but I think it is the same.
Does anyone know if there is something out there for a gauge that I could just clip a probe into the tailpipe much like an emission test? Just for tuning purposes?

If you have a PC V you can buy an add-on called autotune that plugs into the PC V and has a o2 sensor you weld into the header that will tune the fuel map as you ride. It is an expensive add-on but from what i have read it works well. Its about half the cost of the PCV itself. It works along side the PCV

300 for the auto tune from ulmer but that may be the route. If I understand it correctly it only auto tunes to the map that have in the pcV so if that map is incorrect the auto tune will be incorrect. Ulmer was also saying that slow throttle changes such as trail riding is where it works best does not keep up to the on off throttle of back country riding.
I wish I could install the o2 sensor and see a snap shot of the ratios based on rpms etc...
may just have to get the mcx and be done with it
