New to this forum and have been thinking of buying a sled after many years of not owning. A local here has a 2009 apex ltx gt for sale at $6800. I stopped and did a quick look but did not ride. It looks clean and didn't see any evident damage. Any negative issues with this machine? Anything in particular I should check on a closer look? I plan on taking a ride on it. I have a couple Star motorcycles and a 4 wheeler, also a custom pro street bike, so I am familiar with Yamaha and power sports. Do most of my own mods and maintenance. My last sled was a 1978 SkiDoo 340 liquid I bought new. Ran it on the snow and water. Thanks for any recommendations about this machine.

I have one - you will love the sled. I have no complaints.
The rear spring is a bit soft, depending on your weight, you may want to update to the 6.5 or 6.8 spring.
Also, make sure you put Triple points or snowtrackers on it to eliminate darting.
The sled has major torque and never lets you down in the fun factor.
Hand warmers could be an issue, you may want the Rockmeister kit, but they are fine for me with the soft gauntlets. I never get cold.

Fantastic sled. My 09' LTX GT has 6500 trouble free miles. X2 on the handwarmers, they will be an issue on cold days, I use gauntlets. This year I added the tuner skis, what a difference... In my opinoin, the tuners are the best $$$ you will spend! Just squeeze the throttle and go!
