Hoping to buy a 2010 nytro as soon as my dragon sells. Looking at only 2010's. But am undecided as to what length track to go with? I will either way, replace the maverick, with either a PC or CE. My dragon is a 155 and I love the length for the ridding I do. Lot's of low elevation semi low snow ridding, and boondocking, tight trees, steep hills, that's where I spend most of my day. My dragon in a 155 does what I need perfectly. But what about the nytro? With the stock skid, what seems to be the better length? Not going with boost for a while, can't afford it just yet. Any thoughts would be good.

Well my 162 Yamaha rails are the nearly the EXACT SAME length as the 08+ Dragon 155 rails. I dont understand why yamaha rails are so much shorter!?! Makes sense when you compare a 155/154 to a Yamaha 162 climbing, they are VERY close!

Interesting info. Would you mind measuring how many inches of track come up on the floor when just sitting flat? Wondering now how the 162 actually compares with my 155. If it's not really much more then I'll go 162 for sure.

I dont have the skid anymore. I think it was VERY close track on the ground tho.

O right yeah. So what your saying is yamaha's 162 is more comparable with polaris' 155, than yamaha's 153 is? As far as what comes up on the ground?

It really is'nt much longer, The tunnels are actually the same length on the 162 - 153's. Go with the 162, you will be happier if you boost it down the road.

4.5 inches longer if like steep climbs get the 162
if you dont climb much i say stay 153

Yeah I noticed that. The 162 looks a LOT better for that exact reason. The tunnel looks to long on the 153. I was leaning toward a 162 a bit before, you made up my mind now. 162 it is, if I can find one anyway.

Akvector, is that the actual amount of extra inches on the ground compared to a 155 dragon? I know that's what the difference should be about 3.5 from a 155, but some sleds put more track on the ground with the same length track, so that's what I'm wondering about...
Evil1, You upgraded from 153? How did you like it? Clutching I would expect to be needed if your changing lengths. What was your over all thoughts on a 162? How does it boondock in that length?

This info here is the consensus I've heard.....

What if I don't boost it down the road? Still the better choice for all practical reasons? Planning to keep this sled for a long time so want to do it right when I buy it.

I have not seen a dragon up close and personal to see the difference. I was just stating the total overall length from a 153-162 nytro.
The 162 will still boondock just as well and if you are doing climbing as well get the 162. I am happy with the 153 and probably would never get anything longer than the 153 class

Perfect thanks. I would still love to see how the yami 162 compares to my 155.
Would anybody with a stock 2010 162 mind measuring how much track your sled has on the ground? Would be much appreciated!

Here is my 162, dragon 155, and a summit 151. The rails out of the sleds are less than an inch difference, and the front tip up is very close to the same. Ill try to get a pic of he rails side by side next week when Im over at his place.
sorry I dont have a better pic.
