I'm looking for feedback on the new generation APEX! The first year was 2011. Were there any issues with this first year model? Any changes to the 2012 and 2013 models? THANKS!

They are having issues with the exup assembly cracking. I'm reading it's a $600 part. I'm guessing it's located in harms way and being hit by crap being thrown from the track. That's probably how Yamaha is getting out of replacing it under warranty

If that is the reason why it's failing, I see no reason why the replacement one won't fail too. Could get to be very pricy

The 2012's have different graphics, skiis, and xtx's have slightly relocated front bogey wheels- in addition to wheels being 1.5mm lower. Slider wear is not great on either (especially xtx's). Get the tuner skiis and dupont sliders for any year with Yammie marginal snow wheels and it will be fine.

I had heard that the '12's have more seat foam than the '11's but side by side it doesnt look like there is a difference.

The 13's might have an additional sensor for something but I think that's it.

Basically get the one with the best price and color. I personally think the '11 colors and graphics look the best.

10,000km on my 2011....EXUP is fine...sled needed 3 idler wheels, brake pads, and re-built rear shock...other than that no problems!!

I'm not too sure about the wheels being lower, I had a twelve and burned through the hyfax in less than 200 miles in marginal conditions. Went to the Excell Wheel set up and they were great from that point forward. No better/nor worse conditions.

Excell wheels work. I have the regular slides and just like the older Apex they wear to a point then stop. I've also ridden some less than ideal conditions this year and no problem. After hearing some having issues with the duponts I may just stay with the old hyfax and just replace every year anyways especially since the Excell wheels solved the problem in my opinion.

Found a GOOD deal on 2011 Apex leftover! Brand new $9499! I purchased it  Could not find any better deals than this! :sled1:

Don't bother with the Excell's if you ride on snow. 7,000 km on my 2011 128 SE and sliders are fine after the usual Yamaha burn in reduction.

Reduce front spring pressure as much as possible to start, limiter strap up 1 hole and a set of Semi aggressive Snotrackers and you are good for years.

And yes the Bi Zenons from Kurt thru Yamaha are awesome.
