2011 Apex eps failure, diagnostic mode not working

Well, I fixed it. Feel a little stupid, one of the connectors worked loose. Guessing diagnostics wouldn't work because there was no signal at all to the controller. Either way, everything is cleaned, dielectric grease on all connectors, and now I am sure things are TIGHT thanks for the help everyone!
Can I ask what connector you found loose? mine is still the same after replacing motor and controller.

What and where were the connections that came loose? I have a 2014 with exact same issue. Thank You

I believe he was referring the power steering control unit #35:

I have a 2014 same issue. Where was the connector that was loose? I took apart, cleaned and applied dielectric to every plug in front nose of the sled as well as cleaned that obvious ground. Getting pretty frustrated

I think it was this here, if I'm remembering correctly.

I replaced the Stator in mine to fix my EPS problems.

Was the EPS not working the only symptom?
Yes, EPS light would come on 1or 2 miles down the trail, stay on until you did a key cycle, replaced the module and the steering motor still the same problem until I replace the stator all good now. Stator was putting out 12.2 v now its over 14v

How did you test it to confirm that was the issue? I tried testing the plug that goes into the regulator out of the stator with it running but couldn’t get a reading

positive and negative battery terminals.

I’ve heard of EPS issues with weak batteries as well, one dead cell causes “strain” on the stator output and there’s just enough voltage drop to pop the EPS telltale and disable the system. I’m willing to bet this is the main factor with EPS sleds having initial inop function on extremely cold days as well. Once the drained down battery recovers sufficiently and vehicle voltage stabilizes the EPS system starts to work normally again.
