My 2011 Apex has 3500 miles. Ive lost a lot of track clips. what would cause this. Will my warranty cover this. My track isnt to tight and always ride in snow. Hyfax are in good shape.

Track alignment? Are the plastic caps at the front of the rails still attached?

I'd say this is certainly warranty type stuff. Bring it in to your dealer and Yamaha should replace them and figure out the issue IMHO.

track clips

Yes there there. Not all clips are gone. Could they be loose from the factory?

the front black caps on each rail may be causing the clips to fall off if the caps are loose, check them, they aren't suppose to be loose

Both my Apex and Nytro were natorious for throwing track clips. I think it goes back to the approach angle. The clip is beat against the rail and becomes loose, once loose it's a matter of time before an edge catches either the plastic cap, or the hi-fax. Once one catches it makes a sharp edge where the clip cuts into the plastic which catches other loose clips.

I've tried Camoplast clips, Polaris clips $3-5 a piece) Cat clips ($2-3 a piece) and the Marshall ones that are $1 a piece. Same results for all, the oem ones last a bit longer in terms of wear but most wouldn't stay on long enough anyway. Get yourself a nice track clip tool, Snostuff one is about $80.00 and works well if you have an impact gun. Just get a pile of Marshall clips and inspect them after each trip. Make sure to grease the threads of the tool, and crimp them all the way!

First things fiOrst, fix any issues with the rail caps and or hi-fax. Make sure to chamfer the leading edge of the hi-fax were it meets the rail cap. The rail cap fix is on here just do a search, use the bolt through method.

U could try tightening the limiter strap so that the front of the skid doesn't drop as far. I f that doesn't make any difference just set it back.

I would say that somthing is going on like alignment or somthing....if the front rails are catching, a set of anti-stabs should help. How tight are you running the track???

have had to replace most of them around 5000 miles so not to far out of the ordinary on these sleds do check the front caps on rails and be sure the caps are flush to the slides and replace them as you can the track can go without a few but it effects track alignment when cornering

That aint right, write Yamaha a letter.

Personally, I think there is something wrong with the setup of the suspension, ie. rail caps loose, improper track alignment, drivers not aligned or warped/damaged, etc.

You keep putting on new track clips, you're just gonna have to keep on replacing them, unless there is a warranty issue with the track itself...maybe contact Camoplast as well, but I have a feeling they will just blame the design of the Yammy skid.
