Anybody Dyno a 2011-2013 Apex with EXUP yet? On the title it says 149HP and on the 2004 Warrior that I have it says 145 HP on the title! I would think the new Apex would have more than 4 HP over the older Warrior? :drink:

I had a 2004 warrior, and now have a 2011 Apex SE. On my Garmin hand held GPS, the top speed I saw under ideal conditions on my Warrior was 108(Speedo was saying 122). On my 2011 Apex the best GPS speed I have seen in 3 years is 106(Speedo was reading 110). I have also owned a 2006 Apex, and a 2007 Apex, and both were faster then my 2011 Apex. So maybe the HP is really not any better then the 2004 models, or even the older Apex's. Also a Possibility, I just have a slow 2011 Apex. One positive is the fact the newer speedometers are calibrated a lot better.

My 07 attak was deffenatly faster then my 2011 xtx...

Then you have a slow 2011 XTX.... because my 2011 is WAYYYYYYYYYY faster than my 07 Attak...not even close

I just did a full service on a 07 Attack and ran it down the lake (radar run track), 112mph on gps and 125 on speedo. My 11 128 does 118mph on that same track.

The exup does nothing for top end hp. Same engine basicly as the 06 except the exup gives better response in the low and mid range.

not true besides EXUP..Engine upgrades include a new airbox, a new piston, a 5-degree timing advance (uses premium fuel now)and an engine braking reduction system. To handle added air volume from the 11mm longer intake tract, the exhaust pipe diameter increased from 35 to 38.1mm

My 04 Warrior was jetted up, carb springs, TPI valves in the Air Box with clutch work and I would get 124 on the DM. I could run even with F7's and Apex's. And from seat of the pants this 2011 Apex would walk away from my Warrior. :sled1:

My Dad's 2012 feel a lot stronger mid range and top end than my 07 RTX.

Dyno testing showed the RX's to be 135 to 140hp. 145 was marketing much like Yamaha marketing the New Apex at 163.

05 Warrior (136") on the trail (not ice) 105 on GPS speedo read 120. 2011 Apex XTX (144") 107 on the trail 111 on the speedo.

The Apex however is quicker to top speed then the Warrior. Corner to corner the Warrior does not stand a chance but top end is a different story.

Just to throw a Cat into the mix my 2000 1000 Pantera (136") would hit 106 on the GPS while the speedo read 120. That was supposed to have 172hp. Even the new Cat turbo (141") have a hard time breaking 110 with 177hp. I compared all long tracks to keep it apples to apples.

Hp is not everything when it comes to top speed. Once you hit 100mph hp rises exponentially as speed climbs. Meaning turbo sleds making 300hp only hit speeds of 135 to 140 for example while 150hp sleds in the same snow hit 105 to 110. Double the hp does not double the speed.

Side by side drags probably 200 time over the past 3 years with my 07 attak vs brothers 2011 apex xtx. 2011 is stock except a PC-V. 07 has a clutch kit and cobra track, It is a toss up zero to 90mph, but then the 2011 has legs(about 5 mph every time. Before I clutched mine and before his PC-V, the 2011 pulled my bottom and mid every time, and only 2-3 mph on top. Well the difference is with my 07. Best snow run pre cobra and clutch kit was 111 mph. Best snow run post cobra and clutch kit 108 mph. These are GPS. Best estimate on the 2011 xtx is around 114-115mph

Very good analogy. I agree 100%. I have an 07 and 11 apex. Corner to corner the 07 doesn't stand a chance. The midrange of the 11 is unbelievable.
