With 9500 mi it needs a rebuild...new oil, recharge gas and replace any bad seals. It you like the way it rides don't worry about a re-valve...cheaper to just rebuild anyway.new to this post , have an 11 apex se with 9500 mi, my weight 250, and have the rear mono set to 180lbs and the fronts to 85lbs....love the stiff ride, and no bottoming out......at what point do i need to look at re building or re valving? is there a way to test?

thought a loss of air on SE would signal a prob...none so far.....sled runs great.... love it......is there no way to test shock life? how much can i expect to pay for labor and parts for a rebuild on the rear fox II mono ?
so far at 9500 miles had normal oil /filter and lube/belt change/ track checks / suspension lube, etc,,,,, have studboy dueces and studs......planning on replacing exhaust donuts for copper ones this summer....any other maint issues at 10K ?? thanks !! i am strictly a trail rider....semi-aggressive

The air that you pump in is a replacement for the springs on most shocks. So air leaking is like a spring cracking in general it won't happen. Shock life is related to the Oil and gas (nitrogen) in the shock and the seals that protect the oil from water and dirt also keep the gas in the shock. To test it the main difference is fade when using the shock...starts out firm and gets "bouncy" after a while. I would say with the miles it is due. Price varies for a rebuild if it needs new seals or other parts. Lots of vendors do the rebuild... Hygear is well respected their site says $60 for the Mega and $40 each for the front without any new parts. AS far a maintenance just take a close look at everything including bearings and grease everything up.thought a loss of air on SE would signal a prob...none so far.....sled runs great.... love it......is there no way to test shock life? how much can i expect to pay for labor and parts for a rebuild on the rear fox II mono ?
