I am considering buying a 2011 APEX SE, but unsure about the FOX float shocks. I am 6'5" & 300lbs will these shocks work well for me? aggressive trail riding. Just looking for feedback
Tycho998 said:When I got my demo ride the shock was at 200psi (at least that's what they told me) I weigh 230 lbs and I found it way to soft, I don't know if it bottomed out but it felt that way. I watched when others rode it and it really sagged even with smaller riders. The trails were icy and hard but not that rough. The XTX was a far superior ride.

You don't want to ride a sled with floats with lots of pressure in them to compensate for weak valving, they will knock your fillings out.
I love the look of the SE though. too bad my campaign for a black XTX didn't work. A black XTX with GYTR clickers on the front would have been about perfect for us big guys.
Now I'm forced with the prospect of buying an $17,300 sled and then spending $1,500 to change colour, and $750 for new front shocks. Not nice, and it's got me looking at alternatives. I know it's a minor point but to me it's like going to buy a Ferrari (comparable pricing given the limited use for these) and finding out you can only get it pink with whitewalls.
This is a premium product and you should be able to get it with simple options like a few different colours(black), shock packages(ohlins all around) and tracks(1.375" Ice Ripper pre-studded), at reasonable upgrade prices.
