Has anyone replaced the y pipe , now one piece with exhup valve. 2011 apex xtx . Big job , gaskets and flanges are bad .

Ok , Thanks but the 2011 pipe is one piece 4 into 1 , with the exup valve.
YAMAHA IS $2754.00

From what I can see the Ebay kit is for 2003-2010 sleds which have a different diameter pipe, or at least I know the 2011 copper donuts are a different diameter, so assuming the pipe is different, in which case this ebay kit would not work on 11+Apes. If the ebay seller happens to be making a kit for the 11+ Apex, I am not aware.
The 11+ pipes are titanium again, so are very thin and brittle, mine were not broken but worn a fair bit, I replaced the stock donuts with copper ones. Welding Ti is a specialty process by an experienced welder if you want a good job from what I understand. Can't imagine why Yam went back to Ti when so many broke in the earlier years and they went with stainless.

There are rumors Hindle is working on an EXUP delete pipe/exhaust as is Ulmer Racing I believe.

A replacement needs to come out soon. Don't worry about getting more HP, just design a durable replacement.

Yep said that about my 11 when I found out that the Exup/headers where Titanium. Like what the hey didn't they learn from the last time? Damn Yamaha! Who can afford a 3,000 dollar exhaust and you don't even get a muffler. Yamaha dropped the ball on a otherwise perfect sled. A few pound more for stainless who cares make it last. Mine goes I'll park my sled before I shell out 3 grand for a new Titanium pipe. That's more then a third of the price of the sled. Hope someone steps up and fixes it!

Allen Ulmer to the rescue , he has a take off for me !
Thanks Allen

Also, I have 2 Apex's as you can see. My wifes, when I plug the exhaust, it shuts right down. Mine decreases in idle for sure, but does not shuy down, and still sounds new. Should i replace the donuts, and with which ones. I'm a little nervous replacing with copper against the titanium, as it is brittle and more prone to crack vs the stock donuts??

Allen Ulmer , rescued me ! He has a like new used y pipe for me !

slimjim: I have just replaced my stock donuts with 11,500kms on the sled. The sled was starting to sound slightly noisy in the tunnel like it had an exhaust leak. The donuts definitely were not junk, but they had started to de-laminate, and one clamp was spun around on the header so it must have been breaking down. I noticed the OEM donuts have what appears to be a metal mesh imbeded into them now, likely for additional strength and to keep them from disintegrating like the early versions did.
I also noted that there was a cross-hatch or knurled pattern from this mesh permanently embedded into the tapered mating surface of the titanium pipe, the header side was fine though as I believe these are stainless steel vs Ti.
The Titanium pipe flared end was still sound and without cracks, but appeared to be thinning out a bit from the embedding/squeezing of the mesh in the donuts. I figure the exhaust heat generated at this joint must make the surface of the Ti soft enough to allow this embedding of the mesh, as normally (cold) the Ti has a fairly hard surface.
After giving the flared ends a little buffing till smooth again, I opted to use the copper donuts, which appear to me to be slightly wider than OEMs, because the header clamps seemed to grip the joint much better and fastened up good and snug before bottoming on the spacer.
I've ran copper donuts on prior sleds and had no issues, however the pipes were stainless, not Ti. Will see how they hold up in the Titanium.
If you suspect your sled may have an issue, I would definitely have a look at the situation before too long.

how many miles gsxr? just for my info.
