Finally bit the bullet and bought a 11 nytro. Kept my 2007 apex rtx for when the trails are smooth. I love that sled.
I'm studding it this weekend with 96 up the middle. Any opinions on if this will be enough? I only want the extra traction. I ran 144 in the apex and it has worked perfect, no pullouts. Also picked up a pair of woody slim jims 6".

Congrats.96 will be enought for trail riding.

96 was good for me, changed my track so now ill be riding with no studs for the first time in 10 years. Mine were all double backed and were all strait and in great condition after 3200 miles.

96 has worked for me well. No pull outs or bent ones. You will have plenty of traction and transfer. I put them in simply for the traction in icy corners.

i feel 144 is to much rotating mass. but again to each thier own. would be nice for the icy corners...

It's all a preference...personally I go with the old rule of thumb..1 stud per HP...so roughly 144 but alot of guys run 96 and don't have issues. I run 144 and still can't get it to hook up.
X2 on the old rule of thumb. I find the traction great and only had a couple bent studs at the end of the season.

I am running 96 double backers and they have been solid. My riding style is aggressive and there is little inbetween speeds. No issues. BTW congrats on the new ride. You will love it!

3 studs between the windows. Alternating pattern. 2000 miles and no problems. I used round backers.
