I was wondering for some of the folks that have some mileage on their sleds what is actually needed for an apex xtx with 8800 miles on it. I was planning in keeping my 07 a few more years(now that I have it dialed in perfectly with 11000 miles) but my dad is getting another sled and I will be getting his 11 xtx. This thing has been awesome. We have done nothing but seasonal maintenance on it and a set of duponts at 1000 miles. I will be replacing the duponts. The donuts as well( i cannot believe the stock ones lasted this long). Was thinking of an oil lite front end bushing kit. Are they needed where the front arms are able to be greased? Drive shafts on the older apex needed to be replaced. Are these ones tougher? Anything else I should be looking at? I had done so much more to my 07 with this mileage.

ok i have an 11 xtx with just north of 12000mi on it.
i would check the a arm bushings 1st before replacing them. i would be parinod and order the spindle bolt for both lower a arms as i had both of them come out in a w shape from rough trails over the years 2 years ago. they are on my list to remove and check this year. i had hit a tree before and it twisted my arms on r/s of sled. did not notice it until gf hit another tree and saw bushings where thrashed on that side. when i pulled it down to change the bushings is when i found the bent a arms and the spindle bolts.
speedo bearing (with annual repacking) failed on me with 11000 miles on it this season. as i was parinoid, i did all the chaincase bearings and jackshaft bearing while i was in there. in this offseason i will be doing the chain and gears as i noticed wear on my gears.
i reccomend sending cannondale or your prefered shock guy the shocks for servicing. i need to do my skid ones every 2 seasons as i can notice the loss of performance at the end of the season.
odds are the duponts will be fine and i would just measure them as with oversize wheels on my skid, i got about 7000mi on a set of kimpex slider plastic. still on all the stock skid bushings but i do use a grease that water does not remove, even with soap. i repack my skid bearings every year and replace ones that the rubber is delaminating from.
have not seen a broken drive axle on ty yet on an 11+ apex, so still going on my stock one but i do run my track on loose side of spec.
it might be time for dounuts on mine but i need to test it to see if i need to tear into it. i will be adjusting the exup cables this year and checking the tunnel to bulkhead rivits this season as my brothers 04 war with similar milage was on its 2nd time for those rivits being done.
anything you want to know just ask and i will do my best to answer your questions.

That's great info. Thank you. It is good to see that many miles of trouble free riding.
I did check the arms and there is a little play side to side but not up and down. I am guessing that is normal. Rear shock was revalved last year and a dual rate spring on it as well. Thinking about doing the front shocks as well. If it gives half the improvement that the rear one did, I will be quite happy.
I re grease the clutch side bearings each year along with the service. I will be removing the skid as well and re greasing all the wheels when I put the new sliders on.
I tested the donuts and it stalled right out. I was going to replace them as I cannot believe they wasted that long but maybe I will buy them and wait until it starts to show signs of wear. I will be adjust the exup as well.

Side to side play is how they go bad. Looks like you need to put the oil lites in it.
Cannot tell you on the stock front shocks as I am running gytr on mine and have serviced them about 2 times so far. Put them on in the 1st season I had the sled as I was bottoming the stockers way to much for my comfort.

Oil lites it is. I might as well do the front shocks while I have it apart. ThanksSide to side play is how they go bad. Looks like you need to put the oil lites in it.

I would replace the donuts for sure I maintain 3 of these and between 9 and 12,000 they went bad. the one who waited until 12,000 was to late and now has to replace the header with the exup in it. over $2,000.00 for the part. or after market to remove exup is a grand or more. I would replace them for sure. mine has just north of 9,000 miles and barely caught them on time.
That is certainly enough to scare me into doing it. Would you go with copper or the OEM ones? I was looking at the prices for the headers and thought they were crazy prices.I would replace the donuts for sure I maintain 3 of these and between 9 and 12,000 they went bad. the one who waited until 12,000 was to late and now has to replace the header with the exup in it. over $2,000.00 for the part. or after market to remove exup is a grand or more. the nice part is they made them way easier to do on the 11 and up machines.
