- 2014 SR Viper XTX
I have a 2014 SR Viper XTX and I absolutely love it. I have been a Yamaha Rider all my life , but for the first time in my life I have a problem that Yamaha cant seem to fix. it all started happening around 3600 km.
I have all the updates completed and each one has minimized the problem greatly but it still persists.
When I come over a hill or around a right hand corner with a slight slope my machine goes dead. The first time in happened in 2015, I was not able to start the sled and I had to take a tow truck home, my local Yamaha Dealership ran a fix. The fix worked in the sense, now I could start my sled after it shut off and continue on my way. so I continued to ride with the issue as no fix was found. 2016 I had the dealership do another fix and the problem pretty much went away 90 percent of the time, but its still there. I got rear end the other day when my sled just died for no reason, but started right back up. Anyone else have issues like this? love my sled, but not confident I will make it home and constantly worried about getting rear ended which finally happened. Any insight would be great. Thank you

These sleds are POS!!!!!
mine does the same thing. After bad starter and gear, shitted up reverse actuator, hot starting issues, I've had enough. I missed tons of seat time and tired of the BS "out of town Dealers" give me when I bring a sled in that I didn't buy from them. Which is a whole story in itself.
Yamaha has lost ALL its quality controls and they don't seem to give a ratsass!
Won't be riding a Yamaha next year that's 4-sure.
Oh did I mention I've been riding Yamahas for over 15 years! Brand loyalty is out the window with the treatment I have recieved.

Check your throttle cable free play, it may be too tight.
And belt deflection.

By chance do you have a goggle bag on the bars? Just a way out possibility that it is interfering with your TORS. Something to check if you have it.
