2014

Don't get me wrong - I like it and I'm sure it will be a great handling sled. It's just 135 hp is not enough for me, and I've always felt like Cat was at the bottom of the pile in terms of quality and problems. That gives me a gut check that I'm not sure I want to buy. If i can bolt on my MPI supercharger the hp issue goes away. Then I just have to get comfortable with the build quality.

Ya know, after looking at the chassis pics with no bodywork attached and the pics from Yamaha's website you can see that there really is a lot of engineering that went into this. This certainly isn't something that was just thought up and done in the past few months. The entire engine mounting system has been redone with all new brakets that go over the top of the clutches. The tunnel is now open for the exhaust system which leads me to ask if there are tunnel length heat exchangers. I would think not, prob a radiator which is why there is a louvered hood. And did I see it correctly that the guage gives you oil pressure? If it also has a temp reading that would be my dream guage! I'm sold! I'll be one of the test pilots. If there is a problem, I'll still have my '11 Nytro XTX to fall back on.

It should be clear that Cat will be selling the IDENTICAL sled in a different color. OK, maybe different shock packages or whatever, and some Cat stickers. So here's the question: What will the Cat price be versus the Yamaha price? Is there a marketing agreement deal on that? And what if Cat adds a turbo or S/C? Seems like a big risk that more people would leave Yamaha for Cat.

With the Nytro line continuing to be available, I am sure Yamaha will sell a lot less compared to the new Viper line regardless of price. The new Viper has made a long list of Nytro issues go away. Who would buy a new Nytro now?????????

Has yamaha commented on details behind working with cat. I didnt see anything on their website. Whats weird is they are claiming its all yamaha design on the spec's.

So NO turbo or S/C option from factory ?? And hp is 135 ??

Doesn't Yamaha read our posts???? We have been asking for a factory power adder for years. Seems they don't care to partake in this market??? So depressing.

Agree....no sc or turbo. So, a viper motor in a cat chassis. Really revolutionary. Is the cat chassis all that compared to a REV or RUSH or even Nytro? I want more power!!!!! For me thus far, a big LET DOWN. Guess my Nytro with a SC will be on the trails once again in 2014.

Whats the HP on the 1100 NA?
Whats the weight difference between the 1100 NA and the Nytro?

Considering the extra weight of the YMC chassis, the 3 hole Nytro and the 4 hole Apex have always been overachievers. If the Viper weighs LESS than a Nytro, then I assume its performance ought to be very impressive.

I will seriously be considering handing my dealer a deposit on a VXTX SE - red of course.

The 2 cats I ride with haven't had any of the problems that most talk about. Maybe they are just lucky. We always said if they could put my nytro motor in their chassis with Yamaha fit and finish it would be a awesome sled. They have a start hopefully Yamaha quality is in the yamacat also. With no turbo I won't be buying one but if I can boost one I will be looking at it
