2015 yamaha viper xtx mpi turbo
I went for ride yesterday and my 15 viper overheated on trail and off trail(-7 degrees celsius, 19 deg F), I stopped and checked water level and the white reservoir was full but weird thing is it was cold. The rad was also cold, the fan did kick in but snow didnt melt after I put some on the rad. It started and idles fine. Im thinking either waterpump or thermostat. Anybody have similar issues? It has the mpi 190 turbo
also right after i shut the motor off i pulled the black plug from the reservoir and the was no pressure whatsoever
Thanx for the help

Did you check tunnel cooler for heat/ice build up?

Head gasket! I chased that last year for the entire season. It is probably a small pin hole directly into water jacket and just pushes enough fluid into overflow to vapor lock system and then when cools pulls fluid back into motor.

How big of a job is it to replace the gasket?

Only time mine ever gets hot is if both are compromised like if big time Ice/Slush buildup on exchanger AND radiator plugged with snow or ice. If one or the other is working it will not overheat to point of temp light ever even at 50 deg F.
