agreed that the 2015 gear looks nice... Ive been eyeing the new FXR Fuel Modular helmet, and just yamaha now has it as part of their gear as well (Yamaha Fuel Modular Helmet by FXR).. anybody seen or tried these first hand? I know they are pretty new.. any info would be helpful.. Thanks.

I have the fuel helmet and I'm not all too happy with it. The amber shield is kind of a pain to get down if you can at all, a lot of times it freezes when it is up. It feels like your going to break it trying to push the lever down that pushes the shield down. Every time you open the helmet you have to re adjust the breath box which isn't the worst, just kind of annoying. Enough air gets through even with he vents closed and a lot snow dust gets through as well. The face shield scratches super easy but doesn't really fog at all until night time. If I were to do it all over again I wouldn't get that helmet.

I was thinking the same thing when I ordered it. I was excited for it to get here before I went on my first trip to the u.p. and it did end up getting here in time. I was disappointed with it since day one.

Had to go another direction after Klim got sold..... Yamaha should buy Motorfist as retaliation move, and gain some more mountain share. If it's only sold in their stores it might get the outsider to at least look at a yamaha while buying a jacket or bibs. Just my .02

Cheap investment to get young mountain riders into the dealership. Otherwise most wouldn't even come in being they like their 2 smokes so much.

Yamaha missed the boat when KLIM went to Polaris. I have 100% KLIM gear and could not be happier with it's performance. GREAT GEAR!

Klim left Yamaha due to poor sales, and Yamaha wasn't about to chase them due to poor profit margins on, although really good, high priced gear. FXR produces different levels of quality, some comparable to klim, with various price ranges so Yamaha can slap thier badge on it, like they do with their cat sleds, and turn a profit. Fxr sells a more than enough gear to really not give a damn as to wether or not Yamaha sells anything.

I must be the only one who isnt impressed by Klim gear. Bought a pair of their gloves and they are colder than my $20 work gloves, and are falling apart after 1000 miles of riding...

What model glove? Togs, Summits, Elite, Fusion, Klimate, Powercross, or Inversion? You may be wearing the wrong glove. I have Togs for my off trail riding and they are good gloves. My hands are dry and warm with active riding. That said on really cold days of boring trail days and they can freeze with out the velcro on wind guards I use. Active gear isn't for sitdown riders.
