2016 RUMORS.......

Here is a questionfor everyone. Being most are ok with the Nytro motor in a cat suspension, would anyone switch if yamaha supplied a two stroke motor to cat for their lineup, or if yamaha itself put a direct injected two stroke in a cat suspension?
A comment a Cat rep made that "they get a better deal, and service on the yamaha motors than the Suzuki ones" made me think. Along with the fact that Cat hasn't quite dialed in their 800 like they did with their 600 for a cleaner injection. Would also make sense for yamaha to gain the mountain riders back. Would anyone switch to a two stroke if it was a yamaha motor in either brand?
I think there are other clues out there that suggest a YMC DI 2 stroke in Cat chassis in the future.

Not on your life! Had two strokes been there, did that, Yamaha switched to four's and so did I!

I personally don't think I would go back to 2 strokes, but it would be smart for Yamaha to make them to have them in their product line. They are missing out on a big market of people that don't want a heavier 4 stroke sled. If they did make 2 strokes again then Yamaha could say they have the best 2 and 4 stroke engines. LOL. I have to admit though that direct injected 2 stroke triple might be tempting. I did really like my old SRX and Viper.

I hope it is this!!!!!!!

IMHO the sled most in need of a replacement is the RX1, it's been around a long time. It's had upgrades, it got fuel injection and a name change in 06 and EPS and EXUP in 11 and now performance damper, but it is still an RX1, it's time the flagship was that again.
As for the people that want a cheap entry level sled the only way that can happen is to continue the Phazer.
For those of you who don't understand Economics of manufacturing, R&D of a new motor and chassis, building tooling and assembly lines to produce that product, crateing and shipping, marketing and everything else that goes with cost pretty much the same for entry level or flag ship so give the people that want the big dog a new BIG DOG.

SHAME ON YOU, show me a sled that had such a WOW effect on the industry as a RX1 did, matter of fact 13 years later still gets complimentary comments at every stop, what's next do away with SANTA & corvettes, mustang's & john Deere.

I see a new Nytro in the future - 1200 CC triple. - The Sidewinder

I THINK YAMAHA WILL DROP THERE SLED LINE ALL TOGETHER AND JUST SELL THERE ENGINES TO CAT. ETC.
IF THEY CANT BUILD A NEW COMPETATIVE CHASSIS THERE DONE IN MY BOOK ANYWAY!

In reality I see the phaser in the viper chassis for 2016, idk If it will have same new or revamped motor tho

As of this afternoon, Chris updated his blog. He said he was in WI demonstrating the PD to AC people. They are also working on 2016 release product on the line in TRF.

When I put all the pieces together from that post on his blog alone, I see Bold New Graphics and a PD on a YamaCat for 2016. A phazer engine in a SnoPro would be cool though.

I did go look at a used 2014 ZR7000 with a buddy this weekend. He wants a newer cat, but loved the idea of a Yamaha engine. It looked like a nice sled overall. The sound was amazing too! I won't be trading my Apex any time soon for one. It's just a different animal.

It seems every year that what we want... we don't get. So, I don't want anything from Yamaha in 2016.
