2016 Viper LTX LE

Nice! I finally had the chance to try one and take pictures of it. Very nice sled with good suspension and handling. I also tried the new 2016 Apex with slingshot suspension. I can say that Viper LT-X LE vs Apex have same power from 0Km/h to 100km. Now I can't wait until fall to receive the one I have ordered :)

I rode the 2016 LTX LE last Saturday and this Viper is SPOT ON with the new suspension and upgrades!! I've ridden all year SR Viper models (excluding mountain) and have "never" been impressed with the handling of them until NOW!! The 2016 LTX LE is hands down the best handling SR Viper to date and don't disagree til you ride one, it handles better than any sled I've driven to date including apex's w/power steering and revs. Pretty much went from one of the worst handling sleds to can't get much better. I immediately felt a difference getting on this one from previous years. The seat felt great and is higher which kept my knees from jamming into the side panels. I atleast had 5 or more inches of space where other years my knees were always rubbing into the side panels which I dislike. The handle bars are up higher and felt good. My confident levels were all ready up and I hadn't even flicked the throttle yet. First thing I noticed while driving was power is up. More responsive and crisp down low and pulls harder and longer up top. It felt much more stable while accelerating in the straights at high speeds with no darting to speak of. I could execute corners beautifully while in the throttle with no pushing which is a huge improvement over every other Viper I've driven in the past. I also noticed it steers very effortlessly and the front and rear suspension is best yet. I was grinning from ear to ear driving the new Viper LTX LE which has never happened for me on a Viper before. I also rode a 2015 MPI turbo'd Viper and I will say it pulled great up top, but didn't handle nearly as well as the 2016. I could hardly get the turbo sled into boost in the twisty's and with the lack of handling and comfort that the 2016 had ,I opted to ride the 2016 over the turbo. The 2016 LTX LE had more useable power down low than the 2015 MPI turbo sled had. I could go on all day about this machine, even if it is a Yamacat. No joke guys, you gotta try one!!

So higher seat, higher bars, more knee room, tuner skis now turn great without push and more power.

I would think that if major revisions like these were made Yamaha would be shouting from the rooftops.

TD the seat and bars seemed same to me. Maybe short, short windy made it seem higher. As for turning with proper suspension setup the tuners will turn okay. Nothing like your Curves but better than a stock 14 or 15 I have no doubt. This one had the Tuner 2's not 3's like advertised. Dont forget about shocks last year. No guarantees as to pretty much anything till you actually see the sled.

Yeah rub it in why don't you.

That has to be the fugliest adjuster I have ever seen. Why not just leave the black plastic knobs on.

Not rubbing it in I felt really bad for you guys. Just not forgetting. As for adjuster yes its kind of ugly but so easy to use even if you had Mittens on. Heck I could adjust those shocks with my foot! Will be no excuses for people not adjusting the shocks to their liking. Simple.

Wondering if mx3 would be worth upgrade on my 015 viper?
Depends on how much they are and how much tuning you are willing to do. I have a Hygear Axis rear shock and my Carver revalved stocker works just as well with no adjustments. Lots to pick from.

Those shocks really should have more like 5 positions, maybe 6. That is how I would set them up for those who wanted adjustability but would be overwhelmed by 24 clicks on both Hi and Lo.

I'll keep my DSC's now that I've paid for them.

P.S. I figured out where they got the inspiration for the knob:

It seems to me the LTX LE is getting a lot of attention this year. I see a few people, including myself, have ordered them. There is an awesome review with video on snowmobile.com Check it out, pretty cool! I know I'm excited to get riding this machine, especially with the turbo.

I have ordered the RTX SE and I see they went from Fox Floats shocks on my 14 Viper to coil over on the 16? Whats yur guys opinion?

You gained 3 position compression adjustment on fronts and rear shock and now they are Fox! All you lost is the fronts air infinite adjustment but you still have Preload. Way better shock package from what I can tell.

Loved the ltx le black white red spring ordering one next week not sure if i should go with turbo dont want to loose reliability
