The 1.75 has smaller drivers and the skid is lowered from the tunnel protectors a lot compared to a 129. I expect there is lots of clearance even to add 1/4 to the tunnel protectors. Can the 1.75 be studded?
I wish I had the clearance to run 1.86 woodys triggers.

Correct. Only spring order Limited Edition for 2018. If you want the 1.25 you will have to get a 2016 or 2017. There are leftovers.

I ride a 2014 XTX.
Mine is set up as shown in my sig with fully revalved Star kit/Curve skis/bar risers etc.
I rode both the standard and xtx version of 2017 apex this year as demos.
The 2017/2018 are exactly the same as 2011 thru 2015 except for the single shock skid.
The single shot skid uses a float air shock that has very wooden mediocre performance....and has proven to fail early.
Yamaha has an update which is an entirely new shock with more adjustability, different valving and improved seals......time will tell if it holds up better....early feedback is that it rides and performs WAYYYY better.
It isn't a full on recall...yet...but is available to pretty much any customer who presses their dealer hard enough and or has a shock failure.
My limited demo rides showed the 146 xtx 1.25 version handles similarly to my current 144 tipped rail xtx....I was surprised as I figured the flat 146 would push and handle terribly.
The Apex likes a longer track...it balances out the sled .......I don't think any apex should be a short track IMO.
The single shock skid looks robust and easy to service......hopefully the new shock will work well/hold up.
I would personally far rather see a high quality coil over shock in there...there are aftermarket options...good ones...but its serious coin to throw at an already pricey new sled.
Yamaha should have updated with a nice remote rezzy clicker coilover and ditched the air shock IMO.
An Apex with a WRP seat and taller bars is a pretty damn great set up....and retains all the Yamaha goodness.
It isn't there with a Viper chassis for ergos/suspension ....but its close...and in fact poss superior IF you ride well groomed trails.
Buying a leftover 17 apex at way reduced pricing...which should be easy to do.... and swappin' in a high qaulity aftermarket coilover shock would be a great go me thinks......maybe even the updated shock will work well enough??...I would still be leary of an air shock cuz when it fails on a single shock skid yer screwed.

I think you can , use studs that only stick out past the lug 3/8 of an inch max. A lot more clearance than my 129 slso, the 1.75 can be studded in your opinion?
Maybe, it just looks like lots of room. My 129 is tight and I have 1.63 studs which are too long and scratchs the bulkhead below the exhaust primaries. Thats with 8 tooth drivers and the 1.75 sleds have 7 tooth. I would think the smaller drivers would be better for studs. One area that needs extra added to the tunnel protectors is over the rea cooler. I added 1 inch, I thought the 3/4 of the tunnel protector was enough. I marked it and was lucky I did'nt ruin it the cooler.I think somewhere it says no it cannot be
