I am testing with Dalton 70g with the TD powertrail/SQ. I have ran them from open(70g) to loaded in tip(77g or so) and Im still trying to get rid of the lag on bottom. I have two higher rate dalton springs blue, and green...Im testing with currently too.
Revved it from 8800 or so, to 9200.....Target Ben likes is 8900-8950. You might make abit more power with the TB vs SQ but you run Eco and We have Powertrail.
Im beginning think the lag on bottom is inherent to the turbo and not clutching...But Im still working on it.

For ideal rpms I loaded it with the blue, havent tried green yet.
I am targeting the bottom end snap at the moment, not so concerned with top rpms....I just want to see if these can have a snappy bottom end like my 1200 has off the hop, so far the lag is really annoying.

Dan.. I think you are finding out one of the limitations of the dalton's.There is a tradeoff, for the convenience of on the sled adjustability. I had the same problem with my Z1 .Poor throttle response with the dalton's until it got on the turbo.|I 'm no clutch guru by any means ,so I turned too the internet and researched. Found a guy, I started to follow, and he made reference to the lag issue. He said the solution was running STM weighs as you could load them a lot more or less in different zones. Ran them very light at the beginning of the curvature and heavy in the middle. My sled woke up, and was totally happy from then on.Might be a option for you.
Bye the way .You are another one that I follow, and want to say thank you for your insight and sharing of information. You helped me in my Apex days and hope you join the Sidewinder club.

Agreed. The tuneability of stm or hh's are far superior in that regard. Can be loaded or unloaded anywhere. Perhaps due to the overall lighter base weight.

i am running the HH with a base weight of 58, now at 71.1. no tune yet, but no lag. top rpm 8900. i am no expert at all but i am posting this from his manual strictly to help anyone tuning that may not get as detailed of info with their chosen kit or know a lot about clutching, how to approach possible roller related symptoms.
"roller clutches may up-shift faster on low end which tends to bog the engine. This can be cured by running hole #1 empty or very light."'
x2 what ryama said dan many thanks!

I have heard this several times now, and I have been up/down now with the daltons, and i agree it feels like I need a lighter base weight and then ability to add more in certain areas.
I think the Daltons are great radar/lake runners but really want to aim for a corner to corner animal with snap for launching off knolls...
I ran Supertips on my 12 cat and they worked really great corner to corner here on my trails. I want to try those on the winder.

Next week my sled is in drag mode with the Daltons. Pretty sure they will work great.
I have not been beat drag racing either. Plus I will have antilag too.
But absolutely a tuners weight is the stm my favorite racing weight by far.

It seems to me we need to start with a lower base weight and then add more targeted area of weight to get the bottom end snappy. Daltons by nature must be heavier to begin with. Anti lag obviously cures that for drag racers, but for trail riders who want the snap off the bottom(2stroke like or 4s NA like) I think this is why the Kits out there are using Supertips or HHs.
