Thinking of replacing the rear skid shock with something adjustable. Any suggestions, best price, a QS3? Thanks...limited budget. A good used adjustable would be fine as well.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Check with Travis at barn of parts. He may have some used QS3’s.

Not mine, but if I had an LTX I'd be all over this shock. It's a QS3R

ZR RR shock
For sale a slightly used rear shock for 2017 ZR RR. We will service this shock and install an upgraded resi cap before shock is picked up.

Thanks! Travis is looking too. Some are not square at the reservoir end, if you follow me, and its angled. Not that familiar with them, but have seen several different styles and prices on ebay and country cat.

Yeah, if you google on this site, I believe there was a contact issue with the right angle reservoirs on the earlier ones that was corrected on later models with the reservoir being attached at an angle. I don't recall what the interference was with though.

I think it was with the two parallel support bars alongside the shock. You want the angled one if possible.

Shock rub on the early sidewinders.
Thats the problem. Nothing. They miscalculated travel here. The bumpstops on rails would normally prevent it or the shock would be designed differently to avoid contact. Its not. So you need to make the clearance. Obviously the harder its bottomed out the more likely it is to damage the shock. I see this witness mark on almost all the QS3 shocks. Grind the spot it hits on shaft and paint or marker the witness mark on shock so you know its not hitting again. You make a interesting point though. The bumpstops could be raised or...What prevents the shock from hitting the cross shaft?

Good information, thank you. Snows gone so theres time to learn. Im ok with a successful 'update' by owner! I added extra bump stops to my 06 apex, as tug hill has a way of defeating even the hygear mono that would still bottom. I couldnt get the right swaybar links for my old 95 ram so tapered the swaybar holes so the new tapered style fit. Perfect! Too much vise grip garage.Shock rub on the early sidewinders.

Anyway, Id really like an adjustable qs3 to try, so keep any info coming. Appreciate it!

Just read the thread. Looks somewhat avoidable, I rarely bottom but thanks for the warning...grinding clearance looks reasonable, but not until I get one!!! lolYeah, if you google on this site, I believe there was a contact issue with the right angle reservoirs on the earlier ones that was corrected on later models with the reservoir being attached at an angle. That is the shock to get. The rebound adjustment lets you really dial in your ride.

Any idea what the difference is between the 3704-032 and the 3704-253? The descriptions are the same. That is the shock to get. The rebound adjustment lets you really dial in your ride.
