Never 100% sure but 5000 miles later it’s never happened again thankfully! Long story.I was following that thread Cannondale27, what was the end result and solution of the electrical issue?

I owned many Cats from the early 90's to mid 2000's and even though they required more maintenance than the others they didn't have the design flaws these pro cross Cats have.
I used to check everything over on my Winder before every ride mostly because of all the horror stories on these forums. Now I check nothing other than my fuel level. Shame on Cat for their lack of build quality.

XP123 What are you trying to say you no longer have your Winder.

It's still in the family. My nephew has it now and I do all the maintenance on it.XP123 What are you trying to say you no longer have your Winder.
I change the oil and filter and go through the chain case every year. I also give it a good going over before the season starts so he doesn't have any issues.
I don't post hardly ever here but I do come on just to read what others are doing and what issues guys may be having.
I rode an Apex and my wife had a Nytro for several years then went back to Doo.
I came back for the Sidewinder when it came out in 2017 and really liked it a lot except for all the reported issues.
I still get to ride it and it still puts a smile on my face.

So what have you replaced your Winder with.
Are you sure it’s Leaking from the case? I thought mine had a small drip too but it was from when the oil was changed and the padding by the exhaust got oil soaked and would drip. I pulled the padding out, cleaned it and drip went away.Update, even after after changing this gasket the owner says it still has a very slow drip. I told him just to top it up occasionally and then take it to the dealer when season is over as it has warranty. I suspect there may be a tiny crack somewhere but am not sure.
