2019s

You can bet I will be working on solutions for some of those issues. As usual, I have some unique ideas! ;)!
I am hoping so Travis...lol

I dont mind making some fixes, but appreciate your take on things always....I think you should make up a alignment tool along with coolant protector. And a improved belt guard for even better blown belt protection. lol

I wonder if you could come up with a gasket for oil tank leaks?

On the ROV topic......

So the Tcat shows a new tether, and maybe the SRX will too?(we will see next week) and wouldn't it be interesting if that tether was part of a new ROV, that would shut when rolled? Similar to the one being sold in MT aftermarket.

I would hope the ROV issue is being addressed by cat/yam....and maybe, just maybe this new tether is part of it?

The 2019 ZR7000 tells me the viper should return in the new plastics with the 1050, not a 998 na...they added new vents to the front for the radiator. Question is: how many trim options and how many LE models? XTX LE in all blue w/ new iQS please....or is this post faux pas in the SW forum?

I think talking about the Viper is OK in this section because we're talking about 2019's in general.
I'm just not sure us 'Winder guys are sophisticated enough to handle sayings like "faux pas"...

I for one am a little disappointed with the new Tcat/Srx because not everyone cares how fast they can get to the end of the lake/drag strip. I had my eye on a Tcat/winder to have a real trail weapon but it seems these are being more catered to the lake racer crowd. The 1” track won’t be very good for where I ride, sure there’s other options like the limited 9000 and I’ll have to wait a few days for the yami line up but I’d like to own a sled with legendary name and not have to change things to turn it back into a trail sled. Does anyone know if the talked about 1” lower ride height is just a Tcat/srx thing or is it across the turbo sled line up? I think I’ll wait one more year before I pull the trigger on a new turbo maybe there will be something special for a 2020 turbo

They already have the sled you’re describing, it’s called the Sidewinder

2019 Thundercat vs 9000 ZR limited. According to specs, how can they have the same overall height at 51.12' when you have a lowered ride height (1") and a 1/4" lower lug height? How can the weights be the same at 603 lbs when I believe the 137" x 1" Ripsaw is approx. 4 lbs lighter than the 1.25"? This lack of attention to detail seems to be prevalent in all facets of their operation (chaincase, fit and finish etc.)

I hit 122mph gps with with stock gearing. 137 track.
Yes, I've hit 126mph with stock gearing on tuned XTX 141, which has the 8 tooth 3 inch drivers.
However, I question the accuracy of speedo, and also wonder if the speedo has the same or different calibration than the sleds with 9 tooth 2.86 drivers.

I would like to see YAM talk about updates....even if they are for 19s....It would be nice to know.

-Belt/clutch updates
-ROV
-Oil tank seal/gasket
-coolant hose shroud
-sight glass problems

Im sure there are other items that people would like to see addressed but these are the ones I seem to see happening most.

In 18, cat/yam added a oil hole to our top gear, there was nothing i ever saw in print about this update. Will YAM update others items finally? And not talk about it? They sure did not change anything with ROV or oil tank seals, or any clutch updates whatsoever.....I think Cat got new clutch updates in 17, so at least it seems cat is looking out for their brand, but YAM has done no updates for belt blowers.

Would be nice to know for guys like me who want to know about updates or fixes. Hard to decide what I want to do when there is no info moving ahead. I dont mind fixing all these issues myself, but would like to know if cat/yam are even considering working on fixes.

Hard to walk away when I love so much about this sled, but I would like to have a certain level of confidence when going on a trip. Not much confidence as of now.

Dan, did you have an issue with your sight glass?

I simply don't understand what a new SRX brings to the lineup. They already have the winder which is capable of much more than is given in stock form. What will this SRX bring to the table that isn't already there? Maybe it just stroking Cats heritage of always having the biggest dog in the lake race game, the same strategy that took them from top of sales to a solid 3rd place barely ahead of Yamaha. Why not give us two good all purpose sleds, a 100 HP class all around trail sled and a 160 HP class corner to corner sled that we don't have to drop another 3 to 5 grand into in order to tap the potential the power plant has?
