New name and BNGPretty much the only new things I see on that sled is colors and updated spindles. Boring!

Nothing here, but I had no idea they were such a big company. The snowmobile business is definitely small beans to them, a lot like Yamaha in that regard.

If they come up with something new I hope it doesn't have the exhaust coming out the back. That really limits luggage choices

My first introduction to Yamaha was a saddlebag trip in Canada where we passed an Apex that had their saddlebags "smoking" and ready to burst into flames. We flagged them down, but I guess their clothes were pretty messed up. Despite my introduction, I bought a Vector soon thereafter.

I love the sound coming out the back, like a sport bike unlike the Arctic chassis sound which is not as sweet. Yamaha bags go over the rear of the seat away from the exhaust. If they come up with something new I hope it doesn't have the exhaust coming out the back. That really limits luggage choices

I have multiple bags for my Yamahas. I know how they work but it sure would be easier to have a linq system or what I'd really like to put back there is a powder keg. I love the sound too but practically speaking it would be better not to have it back there for bags and the damn noise harmonics

Do you people NOT see the Alpha skid in that sled? Are you too busy bashing the color that you cant see the skid? I told you this was coming months ago. An Alpha skid in a trail sled.

I’m a new member have read postings over the last couple years, I took a few years off from snowmobiling because of bad winters but always stayed up to date with all the new stuff and try them at demo rides and used friends sleds once in a while this year I picked up a 2001 SXR 700 with the spring order Ohlins shocks 1378 miles from my uncle that he bought new. What I would like to see for 2020 release of a Yamaha built chassis that looks like the Apex RTX did with a seating position like a Viper, 129-137-144 inch track options optional EPS and iact type shock adjustments engine choice of the Apex 4cyl 998 3cyl non turbo for the groomed trail riders and a 35-50 pound weight loss for the big bump ditch riding guys a design with a cross between a nitro and a pro cross chassis with a choice of a 600-800 to 900 2 stroke preferably a triple and a couple 4 strokes 95-125-150 horsepower with 129-137 inch tracks and last something in the 80-100 horsepower range that would fit between the snow scoot and Phazer.

You may be right but still I think you will see a trail sled with the Alpha skid. That sled has QS3's, they don't use those in the mountains, do they? It seems like a 137 with a short seat?

Welcome to TY DA177. Great first post BTY.
You've got some great ideas for some new sleds from Yamaha. We can always hope for some new sleds/models to fill in some of the gaps in their line up, but with the way Yamaha has been operating of late in the snow biz it's been tough to keep the faith with anything new coming out. Let's hope that you're right.
Congrats on your new to you SX-R 700 from your uncle. You scored a really nice sled with very low miles that should give you a lot of years use.

You’ll probably see a version of the alpha for the crossover sleds to compete with the c motion skid from skidoo but not for a trail sled. That sled looks like a version of some sort of cross over. You may be right but still I think you will see a trail sled with the Alpha skid. That sled has QS3's, they don't use those in the mountains, do they? It seems like a 137 with a short seat?
Cat already has a 137 cross country model with a mountain seat, nothing new there.
