I heard the 2020's were coming with new relays for the problematic relays that tend to freeze (fuel pump, reverse, headlight and I think one other). Anyone able to confirm this?? Is the a new part number that those with older Sidewinders can use to upgrade ours??

Had the issue 3 times - went with the Polaris model - before I heard about the BOP unit. So with that my Sidewinder has parts from all 4 OEM's (BRP saddle bags).
3 of the 4 others SWs I travel with had the same problem. PQ was the big issue for us - travelling fast in the snow dust then a - 25C night.

20’s do have new relays according to my dealer. Time will tell whether they really are a cure and hold up.

My apex never did it either, and many had it happen.Had the issue 3 times - went with the Polaris model - before I heard about the BOP unit. So with that my Sidewinder has parts from all 4 OEM's (BRP saddle bags).

I believe its due to me never having sled in heated shop. Kept cold in my shop all winter. No moisture then.

Do we know if these are solid state relays or are they sealed relays (like what BOP and Polaris have)?

These relays are quite a bit smaller in size than the originals in my 2018 Winder. I called Yamaha and they said that the new replacement relays you showed are indeed SOLID STATE. That’s good news!

Hi SRMissle,
The relay is not Solid State, they are a sealed relay.

Just checked again with my dealer, he has some now and they are officially in the system.
They do say made in China, but what isn't now, haha.

I just invested in the sealed washable relays from Mauser over the summer so I won't be replacing them with the new Yamaha relays until I have a problem.
