2021 T-Cat

your right - sic of all the bs - im a trail guy racer - tryen to state facts from experience - lac of respect here.. im suprised tom even lets me in here still...

if u dont listen to ben- your an idiot - and a big reason i left this site a year ago - fact r facts - just trying to be fast - unlike u - cat clutches suc - fact
Facts may be facts but I think you need to send an apology to someone.. no need to get all worked up over a sled..

The late model Cats run a Team Primary as well as a Team secondary clutch. I have run Team secondary clutches, since they were first produced, on and off, on every sled I have had since then except my Winder.

I have all the Team clutch tools and more Team TS-02 and Team Tied helixs and springs then I care to think about!

I drag raced and did radar runs with the Team clutches and switched back and forth with Yamaha Secondaries on Trail and Mod 800 and 866 Vmax4s, 2 Stroke stock and modded SRXs, Stage 2 MPI Super Charged Apex drag sled, and my Apex Attak. I really had trouble deciding which ones were the best performers.

After countless hours of riding, racing, and tuning the Team clutches and comparing them to the Yamaha secondary clutches on the same sleds I now have some conclusions
.
The Team secondaries are extremely smooth shifting, a great trail clutch, and very easy on belts.
The Teams can be made to perform well in 500'-660' snow drags but I always found them a little slower[2-3mph] on the radar gun when compared to a well set up Yamaha secondary.

All of my sleds that had the Teams on them including my Supercharged Apex have been sold and I am running a Yamaha Secondary with a roller kit on my Attak now so I no longer am tuning or using the Teams.

IMO...remember there are a lot of ways to "skin a Cat" and just because someone has a different opinion doesn't mean they are wrong...it just means they have a different approach to the same objective.

I do enjoy listening to all who post on this site, and I can tell , you have that passion for power and speed that I also have but do not push like you do, and you have some really valid points and tuning tips for us to listen to!

Rocker Dan is a wealth of knowledge with sleds and the digital age, and one can clearly see that by following his posts.

Long story short. I too am with the TD camp but would have also gone with Dave at Hurricane who also has amazing tuning technology for our Winders. So yeah there are some disagreements, but explain your side and move on without letting frustration speak for you! I get the same way whereas my literature, vocabulary and digital age and lack thereof, get in my way of expressing myself many times, but I do not give up! I just get frustrated some times and say some #*$&@!
Know what I mean? I just smile and continue onward my friend.

Well said! Thanks for the insight.

Oh and to all Happy Thanksgiving. This night deserves a great beer (Tree House Julius) and followed by a nice smooth Crown Royal Peach. Both were presents!!

I came home at 2:00 AM this morning.
Then i spent the day listening to my sister yell at her kids to get off their DAMN phones.
Now i come here and there is dissention in the ranks.
I may go back to my sisters!

P.S: I fixed the phone problem by punching my nephew in the shoulder so he couldn't hold the phone up. At least i didn't call him an idiot

So your saying verbal attack is more criminal than assault? Crap I better get a lawyer!
:drink:
(I better say something about clutches so I’m not off topic)
Roller clutches have always been a real pain for me, lots of top speed issues.

you left the site because people wouldnt like to ben?? wow, must have been quite the ride on your high horse! Many "tuners" with different areas of expertise on this site. Go with who's info you trust. Doesn't make you an idiot. Dan has provided many with solid info and spent countless hours helping people who aren't as knowledgeable as you apparently. keep it up and people will be wondering "where's waldo?!!" oh he must be hangin out with his buddy ben! G'day

What makes the Team slower than the stock clutch in your opinion?
What does it to make them better in the 550-660 drags?

The Team clutches when dialed in, especially the Team Tied, shift exceptionally smoothly with no hesitation up shifting or back shifting. For drag racing they upshift aggressively and immediately compensate for any need to backshift because of loss and gain of traction that would normally cause a button clutch with an aggressive helix to drag engine RPM down.
The downs side of the Team design. if you can call it that, is the spring side pressure increases as the clutch shifts, not unlike a primary clutch does, so belt pressure increases more at full shift out then a comparable torsional spring Yamaha secondary clutch would...from my experience this hurts top speed by a few mph.
I still think they are an exceptional trail clutch because of their hydraulic like smooth shifting, belt grip, and their contribution to long belt life.
IMO...there is a reason Arctic Cat went to Team clutches after their belt exploding previous generation of clutches.

Interesting, thanks.
