I picked the best year to sell my sled. I got good money for it and I wouldn't have been able ride it anyways. Its cats 60th anniversary this year so I'm hoping for something new. They have only had 10 years to develop something crazy but we will see. I would really like to see Yamaha put their own 2 stroke engine in the machines. All they have to do is develop a killer 2 stroke which I know they can do. I don't really care if they share the same chassis but at least put your own twist on your models. I was excited for the mountain max until I found out it was 100% cat. If they continue doing that, they will loose me as a customer for good. I really hope they don't take the easy way out. You sure as hell wont gain any market share doing that.

She would love the YCCT or programmable throttle. Like my Vectors have. But sadly I don’t see that happening. Unless they invested in throttle bodies and Yamaha electronics on these new models. My wife loved this feature. And after putting her on an Apex with EPS. She stated I love the EPS. But when I pull the throttle. It pulls hard on my arms LOL! So I bought her a Vector. With the YCCT. Problem solved except for their stupid rear shock. Thanks to Travis giving me a good deal on the updated shock. That problem is solved for now! P. S. The only problem I have with the 1049cc engine is it costs more to Insure than a 998cc Turbo with almost 200 hp. Because of the larger displacement. Not based on horsepower. If Yamaha and other Oem”s cared about this sport they would lobby the insurance companies to fix this! But maybe we have seen the end of this motor. Time will tell.

Look on the Sidewinder trail forums. New 2022 gets power steering. Lots of interest in the New release. My 2 cents.

So I am glad to see. People still have the passion for this sport like I have. I bought my first dirt bike in 1972. After saving up from my paper route. I was 10 years old. So I had to have my Dad take me to the dealership in Alexandria Virginia. I lived in Maryland. You know right outside the Swamp. Sorry but my Dad actually sold the computers to the Goverment that were outsmarted by the Ladies in the movie perfect figures. So the Salesman sized me up and said you should by the TM125 Motorcross bike. I thanked him because my Dad told him that the TS90 was to big and wanted me to buy the 50cc. I was trying to convince my Dad. At the time that what I wanted had a full frame than one. That had some little chrome braces from the engine going up to the headstock. My Dad had an engineering degree. So for $400.00 I got my start in powersports. I bought several dirt bikes after this. Husqvarna 250, Ossa 250, Montessa 250 and finally my Wife surprised me on Christmas Day with a picture of a 1979 YZ250. It was parked at her neighbors house! Long story short I only knew one person with Snowmobiles when I was young. My Service Manager in Maryland 1978. He had to drive almost 4 hours toWestern Maryland to ride.So in 1982 when she brought me to Northern Minnesota for Christmas and New Years to visit her relatives. I told them I want to rent a snowmobile. Right away her Uncles told me there’s not enough snow. Keep in mind the suspensions back then. Well there was 4 inches. I told them I came 1200 miles and that I wanted to try one anyway. Well of course she went with me. We rented a brand new 1982 Ski Doo. For a half day. On Gull Lake in Brainerd, MN, Well the lack of snow freaked us out on the lake. Hitting piles of snow and causing the sled to tip up on one side. Not a two up sled. But with two people on it me driving of course. So we headed to the woods and the trails. I let her drive for a while. My wife was aTomboy. I know an old term. But she owned a Rupp Minibike. I will never forget having to hold on to the strap running across the seat. Because if I had not done that I would have pulled her right off the sled LOL!. So when we returned the rental. We sat down in the bar restaurant. And had dinner and probably a few drinks. I will never forget seeing a bunch of headlights coming across the lake. They pulled up the bank from the Lake. Then they all came inside and peeled off their gear. They actually filled two booths with the gear! So when I got back to the swamp. I told my buddies. In Minnesota they have Snowmobile Gangs! LOL! Just pointing out the freedom this sport gives us. I was constantly being chased and harassed when I had my dirt bikes! Appreciate what you have while you still have it!

Their official release is March 4 for cat. Dealer release was yesterday. Some “leaked” screen shots of the line up are out there. New colors, power steering on t cat. No mention of new engine so I doubt we will see anything new. Sad. Not long and I think we will be back to four snowmobile manufacturers. Doo has moved to corner the market for sure. They may not have the power of a sidewinder stock yet but they sure do have the options from top to bottom?Link, I can't find the 22 Cat line up?
If Polaris ever offers a 4st that will be it for Cat. Would be cool for Yamaha to supply Polaris engines!

It appears the trend is towards Turbos in general. Surely Polaris won't sit this out.
