Planned to ride sleds from Pembine WI to the Fun ride in Muni. Buddies from Ill both had to work Fri so Sat. They ran into snow in I’ll and south of me so we got late start and ended up stuck in Pembine with truck. Just left it to save time. Left Pembine about 2pm Sat. Most of ride up was cold and in dark. Heard lots of rocks and dirt near Iron Mountain which we had to do since faster route out of Norway bridge is out. Extra 30mi. Made it up there in time to meet much of the crew in HalfPint. Great to see all again!
Sunday took northern route through Grand Marais to Paradise then back to Hotel Southern route with gas up at the Wolf Inn pretty darn nice trails. By Monday the rookie with us had learned to limit break times the trails were ALL PERFECT fresh snow and first tracks all the way to Norway where we met the only two sleds we saw all day! Rest of way was third tracks the new snow was just enough to stop the rocks and grinding carbides. It was Epic. Got owner of Winters to pull the rig out and was home by 3pm Mon. 720mi on. Can’t wait for more!
