I'll keep looking for midwest riders to team up with.
It's just too far to do solo
If anyone has buddies in the midwest that are thinking about attending, have them PM me. I've always wanted to ride northern ID.
Thanks

Hey Bob try a post in the general section with a title something like "Looking for co-piolts for a ride out West". I bet you will find some companions.

Yes, you looked like one, due to my goofball throttle position!![]()
BTW my throttle is kept loose on the bar so that it is movable. It is normally tilted up to suit a standing rider (with limp wrists), however a simple twist makes it more comfortable for guys who aren't limp wristed.![]()
I fixed it for you Ray. There where a few grammatical errors.
You're Welcome

BTW we are finally starting to get some snow. It has been a pretty dry year so far. The good news is one good storm can change all of that.
Brundage is claiming 68" up top and Tamarack is claiming 56".

Re: MN riders???
Bob, you should try talking Geno into going. He was contemplating it the year I went but the poor snow conditions out here wasn't enough to justify the drive from MN. If the levels keep going up in McCall (like Cooke City is); you might be able to persuade him to go.
I'll be riding with him and some others this weekend in Cooke City. I'll let him know your'e looking for some co-drivers to share the expenses.
Edit; Ray, why you say it's a slow start? Your snow levels where comparable to Cooke City's last season which was 100 times better than what we had in '04/'05. They are about the same this season too. Cooke City is @ 68.8" right now compaired to 71.2" Dec. 26, 2005. That's fairly close to on par for an average snow accumulation.

Road Brundage yesterday and West Mountain today. The snow was pretty darned good. We could still use more but at Brundage there was 18 inches of fresh in most spots and 3 feet in others. On West mountain there was 1-3 feet of fresh depending on where you were.
I managed to auger into about a 3.5 foot deep trench today. I didn't think it was going to be that soft and had no momentum when I hit the hil. Can you say STUCK!?!?!?!!!! :exc:

It's snowing like mad!! Unfortunately, it is snowing and blowing so hard that I don't think I can see to go riding today.
I bet we have gotten 8-10" since the early morning hours!!
Anyone want to come plow my driveway?

Well it looks promising. Should be good to go by ride time. Can't wait.

Cause we're busy praying for snow......
I've discussed it with my co-driver. If it there isn't a significant increase in the snow depth (feet not inches) by February 1st we are going to switch the our trip to Washington and look for some DEEP snow.

Does Washington have more snow than us? We definately could use more, but I've actually had pretty good luck finding some good snow.
Brundage is saying 65" of snow at the top. There is supposed to be a storm moving in the first part of next week.
The good news is one good storm and we could add 3-4' up top.

Yep, Mount Baker Report (160"-172"): http://www.mtbaker.us/snowreport/index.htmlDoes Washington have more snow than us?
2005-2006 (Mount Shasta, where I ride, is 100" below normal)

Yes, we do have quite a bit of snow in the mountains. It is turning out to be a pretty good year in the great Northwest. Just need to find more time to ride.
