Wanna ride today before the snow melts, but nobody in town carries 0w30! Will 5w30 work?

yes, What we are worried about is the Second number mainly. The Second number is how thick the oil "acts" once it warmed up to operating temperature. The first number is the "cold start" thickness and a 5W might turn over a bit stiff at -20*f compared to 0W but if you let it warm up properly you should be fine.
