Has anyone seen a-arm covers for the RX-1 and not the carbon fiber ones Yamaha sells. The ones I was hoping to find would be the round plastic covers that have a slit down the middle of the tube so that they can slide over the a-arms. With the RX-1 a-arms being thicker in diamter compared to the older sleds, I don't think they would be able to stay on or even fit on the RX-1 a-arms. What I liked about these types of covers is that you can't really tell they are on (unless you get some other type of color) and they stil protect the a-arms from scratches and nicks. I've looked through Dennis Kirk and ShadeTree but have not found anything close.

I put the covers off of a viper on and they do work. I had to cut it several times. The bottom arms are so big around they only fit about 5/8 of the way around, but they do provide protection and stay on. I got 700 miles on mine with no problems. I will try to post pics or can send them to you and you can post them.

they're talking about the plastic sleves that go over the arms that connect to the trailing arm suspension. On the a-arms yamaha only has the huge covers that go the whole thing.
I am trying to post them. They are totally custom made. Cut each piece individually and form fitted them as well as I could.

viperfun, thanks for posting the pics...if I wouldn't of seen it myself, I would of never guessed the ones off a viper would fit that large diameter a-arm bar. How many sets did you end up using overall. Looks like you pratically have about 100% protection so I was wondering if you were able to do it with just one set or maybe two. Thanks again!
It took two full sets to get it all done. You have to make sure you put to big ones on the bottom.
They are better than nothing and better than the ones Yamaha is selling.

You can sure say that :!: I can't believe I almost bought a set of those carbon fiber ones. Had ordered it and they were on backorder for so long that I was able to read here that others were not satisfied with them. Ended up canceling the order. Would you happen to know off the top of your head the different colors they offered for the Viper? I was hoping for either black or silver to go with the fastest color of the RX-1 family...that being black.
