Santa is bringing me a hd go pro christmas day
What mode do you prefer to video in to get the most affect and quality? Is it R5?
When you -plug the cam into your computer does it just see it as an outside drive? Like say an ordinary cam?
Sorry about the questions but you make awesome videos so asking you is a good start.

When I plug mine in it says AMBA mass storage, under removable G. I never use this thought I always pull my card out and use the SD.MS./Pro.MMC.XD card slot on the laptop.
When recording using R5 just sucks. The files are to large and most computer cant handle editing 1080P. The time it is useful is unless you playing it on the TV. With the TV I don't use the cable, again I use the SD card reader on the PS3. I only is good for when you are using a 50 in TV or bigger and it has a smaller view angel.
I think he is using R4 witch is used for taller view. It would be used for chest mounts and the side of the helmet, and the wrist mount. or he could be using R2 or R3 (or he could have changed the aspect ratio). If you are strictly using youtube as a player, use R4 and R2(R3 to but this could create lag sometimes with youtube) . This is because youtube only allows 30 fps and height HD end of 720 (that's what they say). They allow the video formats but supposedly it downscale them.
If you look at my videos I used R5 once, it nearly killed my old laptop, and it looked like crap, I had to down scale for you tube to except it.

so in your experience its quicker to get a card reader than just pluging the cam into the laptop?

First I would have recommended the 960 Hero it cheaper and when you lose the first one, you rather not want to shell out the money, regardless of what my discount it. It does the same thing but has no 1080p and 720 @ 60 fps.
This one uses 960 and 720
