Has anyone ever tried this or something similar? The theory behind it seems good just curious. I would really like something for the nytro that could give me a warning for bad fuel. I don't have the storage to carry octane booster all the time.
Thanks

Very interested if this would work on our Yamaha engines. Where would you mount the sensor?

I don't have this brand but I do have a knock sensor. I mounted the sensor on the starter bolt. The hardest thing to do is set the sensitivity so you don't get false alarms. It's not hard it just takes some time.

Back in 07 I tried the knocksense setup http://www.viatrack.ca/ ....used a piezo style sensor on the starter bolt...could never get it right.
The main reason for it to not work on our motors is due to the frequencies the 5 valve head produces. The frequency would need to be measured and then programed to not trip the light, etc....
