Anyone else besides MountainTech make a skid plate for the Nytro? they want $20 to ship the plate which brings the cost up to $160.

The Mountaintech skid plate is by far the best option. Judging by your extensive (and expensive) mods, the $20 in shipping for a top notch skid plate is well worth protecting your investment.

I've got marks in mine I didn't even know I hit that without it would have for sure torn the oil filter clean off. Spend the $20 you won't regret it.

Just heard a little tick on the trail yesterday and when I got home noticed that one of the screw heads that holds my skid plate on, was sheared clean off. Don't compromise, it's money well spent!

The 20 dollars is nothing compared to the price of the roll over valve you need to buy so you can tip your sled over and show off your fancy new skid plate at every shack :bling lol

You guys with the long plates have ice growing in the 3" hole? I have the shorty and it's great.

I don't have the 3" hole anymore. It is welded shut with a plate when I beefed up the sub frame along with the top covered with another plate. If I bend the sub frame now there is serious damage besides the sub frame.

$20 is cheap shipping in the States. That plate weighs probably 3 or 4 pounds. $ 25 to ship a plate like that inside Canada.

Did anyone in Canada who ordered the mountaintech plate have to pay duties and taxes on the plate when it was shipped to Canada.

Pretty sure I paid taxes but not duty. NAFTA is in full force now so I'm pretty sure you don't pay duty on anything manufactured in the US.

Mountain tech it is for me also. I'm pretty sure that you've spent $20 on a lot stupider things than shipping for a part. I know I have. I have the full length one as well. Worth the $$

There's a shop in Alberta that makes one also. Saw it on another forum. REDLINE Engine Performance, Sylvan Lake, AB. 403-396-1443

I made my own plate but I have the machines to do it. As far as I am concerned it should have come on the sled to begin with or at least something better then that flimsy P.O.S that was on there. Full plate is the best way to go.
