Has anybody put an alarm on there RX-1? I am looking into putting the Viper 200 motorcycle alarm on mine. I just wanted to see if anybody has tried this and if it drained the battery?

even better- insure the crap out of it and leave it idling in the parking lot. Or, go to Revelstoke, stick a few in an enclosed trailer with a superduty attached, insure the chit out of it and ride the bus home. Been der, dun dat.

They have them for m cycles. you could do it. Might be worthless unless you put on a motion/vibration sensor though.

Now that I thought about it I'd rather install some type of explosive device for a nice surprise for the low life thugs 8)

I use a armed guard alarm i love it has motion activation device. also will go off if some one lifts the hood to disconect. think snow!

I would be a little careful about bragging about this type of activity  Remember! As a result of of doing things like this! All of our insurance premiums go up!! :o|

Bob, I don't think Kbx is happy or bragging about this, if I remember correctly when it happened he lost his #*$&@ from the ins. co.

If you want an Alarm system then try to get one with a 2 way Paging System. Obviously you will want one that is intented for a motorcycle so that it can handle the abuse of riding along with the sled. Car alarms aren't made to handle the weather. A paging system will work great if your are staying at a hotel and can't park your truck next to your room. What could be more fun than to catch the bastards in the act?? Get one with a perimeter sensor for the added protection. When it comes down to cost of alarms out there, the scorpio runs about 325 USD with these features. Thats a little too rich for most of us, so I would recommend trying the Komodo Alarm. They can be Purchased online at

The price seems right to me, and the components are small enough to tuck away out of sight. It also has Remote Start, I have seen this exact alarm installed on a carbed Suzuki Katana, and it started fine. The owner said you just had to set the choke appropriately so that it would keep the idle reasonable in the mean time.
