Any reason not to buy a 2014 sr viper??

Got a chance to get a great deal on a 2014 SR viper

Doing some research i found that has some issues not starting in cold an bogging down , are these isolated incidents ?

any know problems?

anyone will lots of miles and no problems

One of the reason I buy Yamaha is for dependability If the viper does not have it I would rather Just go with vector

Let me know what you guys think.

I am told there are over 10k Vipers on the snow right now. There are some with issues, divide 10k by those with issues and you can get a pretty good idea. If dependability is all you look for then Vector is probably the way to go. If fun is your main objective than the Viper is it. To each his own :D

well the truth of it is I like to have fun and dependability in one package.

I tend to avoid first year models whenever practical. The Viper has backed this theory up. Yes you can apply all of the updates, but it will still carry the stigma of being the first year. Anybody who asks will be told the same thing. Make sure that the updates were done. Updates? What updates? does the sled have issues? Hmm I think I need to take a closer look.

There are those who will accept the fact that the updates have been done and others will move on and shop elsewhere.

I also think that the graphics and body color balance saw major updates in 2015. Not all are my style, but the more modern look will continue as newer models come out.

I would tend to agree with you........other than the fact I put 22k on my 03 RX-1 LE and 19k on my 06 RS Nytro.......miles, not kilometers

3700 miles on my rtx and no problems. my friends had a chaincase problem at 350 mi. dont know what to think. But still a blast on the trails. not so much on the lake. Depends on whats important to you.

I have a 2014 xtx and don't regret it one bit. Only thing I would like is a bit more top end. Other than that best sled I have had to date.

Love my 2014 ltx, starting problems at -20c supposedly rectified by switching to "red" fuel pump relay
I'd think that would be a free replacement, but sadly it's a product improvement. so I guess I'll improve it
Not necessary if you want to use it in the SUMMER ,.-/:;)$&@

3500 miles on my 2014 LTX SE. I have had to replace a broken primary spring, that's it. My 2006 Apex I had to change , handle bars (no heat), Exhaust donuts, y pipes, (2) sets of Hyfax, (2)broken ra adjuster cables, fuel pump, relay and all wheels and bearings in suspension in its first 3500 miles. The Viper rides and handles better and is tons more fun to ride IMO.

anyone have the starter issue, The way I understand it you have to remove engine to get to stater. was there any update on the starter gear?

about 3,000 miles on mine, best sled I have ever owned and mine is a 2014 XTX. No starter problem here....

Coming to 5000 mi real quick. Rode stock about 1000mi. Best sled out of the box I have ever ridden. Now it's modded and getting more fun. Has never left me stranded and I have never missed a Monday at work. I don't believe the slight changes they made to 15's would justify spending a penny more over a 14 unless you like the colors. Can't go wrong with either year.

I have over 4000 miles on my 14 and the only issue was hot cold starts which has been addressed with the reflash. No other issues here. Love my viper.

2014 LTX SE 5300 miles and not one issue. always starts, wish it was faster on top end but very reliable.
