My wife may give up her beloved Doo and I am trying to convince her to try the Vector. We do 200-250 mile a day ventures on groomed trails. She is worried that the Yammi is too heavy. She can't take the heavy steering on my Apex but she only weighs about 115 pounds.
Any comments on this would be appreciated.

i have a 09 ltx and my wife rides a phazer gt,she doesnt like the vec compared to her phazer, she thinks the sled is too bulky and heavier of course, she's looged on 10 000 miles on her phazer and i will be looking at trading it maybe next season, she wants a nytro or another phazer, she digs the stand up sleds, when it gets rough she just drives standing for a bit,on the vector you cant do it comfortably,i'm leaning towards a used nytro, this way i could hop on it once in a while and have fun myself

This is the second season I ridden my 09 vector gt ltx and I love it!!! I put doolies on the sled when Doug brought the sled home and it handles great!!! I like having the speed to keep up with the boys!!!

My wife is 5'1" and 110 lbs and LOVES riding "my" '10 Vector LTX-GT. She says it's the lightest feeling/steering, best handling, nicest riding sled she's ever driven. She rides it when we go together, otherwise it's technically my new sled.
Her previous ride was a 2000 Arctic Cat Z440. Super lightweigtht, fan cooled smoker. She says the Vector feels as light or lighter than the Z did & of course rides WAYYY smoother. Obviously the Vector is alot heavier than that 'Cat, but it just goes to show how great the new Vector truely is.
Only mods to the Vector are 8" duallys & 135 studs.

my wife loves the vector. she's about 5'4" and handles it just fine. she likes the sit down style of her 05' rather than the rider forward. she also has medical issues and can still ride it for allot of miles. a great choice in sleds.

That's a 5K dollar idea I would prefer not to bring up

My wife does not like our vector. She says it feels heavy and hard to steer. She LOVES the phazer. Both our sleds are mountain sleds, so that may make a difference but the extra 15 or 20 mph just isn't worth it for her.

My wife is 125 pounds and I made the mistake of asking her if she wanted to try my 2010 Vector LTX. 125 miles later she let me put it in the trailer. Nuff said.

I think the DBII feels lighter up front than the DBI, 07 and back. The DBI is especially hard to steer at slow speeds and in heavy wet and /or frozen wet snow.

My wife rides my 06 Rage (basically a 136" vector) and absolutely loves it. I did crank up the spring in the skid to take off some ski pressure but other than that its stock. Also, my 11 year old son (about 110 pounds) rides it in the fields around my house. His sled is a fan cooled 400 indy and he will always steal the rage if he can.

My wifes 06 Vector Gt has a set of Kimpex Arrow ski's. I really only ride the sled to load and unload. So the other day I rode it for a little while just to check everything out.
Ease of turning is unbelievable. No darting at all, an it handles the turns great.

I have a 05 Vector with an Olins rear. It handles well in all conditions except deep snow. If I do 120 miles + in a day up in Pittsburg I feel like I had a nice upper body workout in the evening. I don't think my wife could deal with this over a few days of riding. She rides a Viper now and the steering is effortless compared to the Vector. I don't think the first generation of Vector is a good choice for your wife given the mileage you are describing. You could adjust some of the heavy steering out ,but then you compromise handling. Good luck!

My significant other rides an 08 Vector LTX GT, I wanted her to sell it and get a Phazer this year but she wanted no part of it, she loves the Vector!
I figured she might like a lighter sled but she doesn't want to give up the power, she likes to keep up!

My wife LOVES the '07 Vector Mountain. She hated the Phazer GT...it was too "tippy" and always got stuck. I hated the Phazer GT for all the other reasons. She really likes the stable feel of the Vector and of course the longer track means she can TRY to keep up with me. :exc:
