I know there are some TY members that live in this area and others that go here often, but I can't remember any names off the top of my head...

I ride this area frequently but most of my riding buddies aren't available next weekend (Feb 22-24). If anyone is riding this area I'm wondering if I could possibly hook up with somebody to ride with? If I can find someone to ride with I'll be staying in Germfask or Seney or with family in the area. Just prefer not to ride alone in case something happens.

You could check with YooperMike. I believe he lives between Seney and Newberry. I think he does mostly offtrail riding

Thanks for the tip. I pretty much stick to the trail and ungroomed roads. Don't really get into the true boondocking.

I've got a cabin just outside Curtis, and we ride Seney/Grand Marais almost exclusively (grew up there).

We are headed there this afternoon for a long weekend. Not sure if we will be back out again next weekend or not (depends on the weather).

Even if we can't hook up next weekend, let me know the next time you are gonna be up again...I usually end up riding alone.

Thanks Bob! If you decide to go back up there let me know. I'm not 100% committed to making the drive yet, but if I know I had someone else to ride with it makes the decision easier, and I'll definitely check with you on other rides too! :rocks:

I will probably be riding Saturday from Curtis up through seney etc...not sure what time, will be downstate for work until late Friday nite. Did some family riding this weekend with company that came up. About 450 miles and only 20 of it was bumpy. Trails are nice and lots of snow north of seney. Bob, I did not get your message to ride this past week until it was too late. Hopefully before winter is over we can ride together.

Awesome. I'm taking mine out locally on Tuesday after a couple minor repairs. If everything shakes out I'll probably head up that way. If I do, I'll let you know. Maybe we can meet up..

Saturday we did a bit of work on the sleds, and then just played around on the lakes. It was a bit too cold to go too far with the kids.

Sunday we rode up to Grand Marais for lunch and back. Trails were very good. It was a bit chilly in the morning but nice in the afternoon once the sun came out.

Had one bit of trouble on the trail...my buddy bought his son a new Phazer for Christmas. Son ended up banging into the back of his mom's venture when taking off from one of our stops. Just a minor dent on the back of the venture, but broke quite a bit of plastic on the front of the phazer. A bit of duct tape, and we were back on the trails.

Monday we did a mix of trail and off trail riding...made our way over to Pine Stump and back. Trails were AWESOME!!!

And....of course....there is a ton of new snow today when we are all back at work.

Guys,

I broke the drive shaft on my Apex tonight so I won't be headed up there this weekend. If I can get some parts I'm looking to head up that way in 2 weeks (March 8-9). If either of you are up there, I'd probably be interested in hooking up.

Marq,

Bummer about your sled. I live up here so If and when you make it up give me a shout. I try to ride at least 2-3 times a week. Heading out now as a matter of fact!
