I put a heavy duty MB drive shaft in my sled about 9000 miles ago. It's got a lot of hard miles on it. I was wondering if anybody has ever broken a heavy duty shaft after a lot of miles? I'm going to start working on the sled in the next month or so, and I am trying to think of what needs replacing.
The sled has about 11000 miles on it, I was thinking about changing the jackshaft too.
Any thoughts?

Have the HD shaft on my 08 Mtx with 4500miles with a superchager on it and all is good. A-arm bushings or steering shaft bushings.

what is an MB driveshaft?

MB = Micro Belmont, at least I think that is what he is referring to. Company in Michigan that makes them. I did break my Micro Belmont shaft somewhere around 10k. I now replace the drive shaft as part of my yearly maintenance.

md, you should note that the reason you replace the driveshaft yearly, is because you put more miles on your sled in a year, then some of us do in our daily driver vehicles!

I was talking about Micro Belmont.

I think I might change it, just to be safe. Since I put a ZX2 suspension in the sled, there's not much to do to get ready.

guardrail, you might want to take note of the fact that those MB drive shafts had a flaw. They did not recess the bolt hole on the chain case side like it is on the OEM shafts. This causes the stock bolt to bottom out and caused me a lot of headache before I found out. I had the bolt back out which blew a hole threw the chain case. Had to walk because of it. :o| It also explains why I stripped a couple of those bolts. I originally thought I damaged them during assembly.

I actually forgot about that. Luckily I noticed it when I first installed it. I just cut a little off the end of the bolt and cleaned up the threads with a triangular file. I always use loctite on that stuff. I had that bolt come loose on my rxwarrior and cause a lot of damage.

I ended up using red on mine cause it kept backing out. I might be replacing the track this year, so wish me luck.

Get a little heat on that bolt before you try to loosen it. One of those small butane torches right on the bolt head for about 10 seconds and it'll come loose. I use red loctite all the time at work, and heat is the only way I've found that works.
