My dealer and I were chatting and he said he would probably run the wider Phazer mountain skis for Jan, Feb, Mar (powder months).

Anyone else consider doing this? Definitely better flotation.

they are not just for the phazers they are yamaha's mountain skis. been comming on sleds since 05-06 i believe. they are a great all around ski and have good cornering and floatation.

they are similar to a powder pro in keel and feel. the one thing they dont do well is hardpacked trail with 3-6" of fresh on top. the floatation makes the skis feel light with no bite. give and take. they do work well on the trails with shaper style wear bars. ski

I have them on my rs venture tf,they work good in the powder and do fairly good on the hardpacked trail, the keel is deep and bites on the trail.
But like skidooboy said add a few inches of powder and they do float.
Mine are on all season, and I ride the same area as you with out a problem. :4STroke:

If anyone is interested, I will be selling a set from a 2007 Phazer Mtn with 1100 km on them and a set from a 2008 Nytro MTX.

The Slydog Race skis are an inch wider than the stock 5 inchers, plus they're stronger and lighter too, so that's always an option if you want to be somewhere in the middle Goddo. I'll let you know how they work ;)!
