Has anyone installed the updated steering stem support? Looking for how you go about installing it and does it fit viper/7000 as country cat says nothing about fitting 7000. I have side to side play and it seems as the bracket flexing. Do you need to remove the front end to get it in? working threw the side boots is awful lol

I just put one in a turbo Cat. That stop had broken right off, VERY dangerous!!!!! I took the nose piece off. The brackets are riveted in. Not too bad a job. If you are suspecting a broken bracket definitely check it before you ride
I could be wrong but all Vipers and 7000's have it already.

The Turbo Cat did not have the extra little support piece that came with the new kit, it was a 2014. Cant speak for the models you mentioned Cannondale.
Cannondale, were the earlier steering stops and front plate both aluminum in the earlier models and the top plate steel in the newer ones?? Is the little add on bracket that comes in the new kit the update?

Yes that's the update. Cat was a little late to the game in 14. Now they beat Yamaha move for move it seems. The Turbo Cat did not have the extra little support piece that came with the new kit, it was a 2014. Cant speak for the models you mentioned Cannondale.

Something like this I don't want to take a chance on. I know mine has it but anyone in doubt find out. Never know what comes out of the factory. I believe all Yamahas and 7000's are done but ask your dealer.

Mine was loose but it was just the nut that was loose. 17mm socket from under the tie rod boot and took a whole turn and is tight now. Keeping an eye on it though!

i have a 16 and the end of last season i went from 1" of play to about 2.5" side to side play on one ride. My bolt was very loose and didnt catch it in time and it egged out my brackets. I ordered the country cat update kit and it does not fit the 7000/viper. The brackets are alittle different and

The kit moves the bracket around and the steering post bolt is not inline with the access underneath to tighten the steering post bolt.
So i went to yamahas site and the parts for a 16 were around $80 and i looked at cat and they were about $40 shipped. I just recieved them today and now i looked and it looks like the 2017 sr vipers have a new design with a reinforcement bracket rivited on.
i ordered

now i think the 2017 models have an updated kit as these are the part #'s listed. These also come with the bracket update kit on the top of the link. To me i couldnt get a socket through the access hole to tighten the post with this bracket kit. Im really not sure and I am just going to put the same part #'s that came off back on.
