Really thinking of extending my Apex next year to 136 and going with one inch track.

99% of my riding here is on groomed trails, rarely do I get out on any type of powder even on the trails. We just dont get that much here, when I go up north its all groomed trails and lake running.

Thinking the 136 and inch track I can get some good acceleration with good studs and not having hitting issues.

Anyone gone this route, what did you gain, did it hook as you expected?

I know I can go 136 with 1.450 but thinking for my type of riding the 1 inch and shorter studs will be an added weight savings benefit, and possibly longer track life.

I just took out a 121x14x1 hacksaw and stretched to 136 but went with a Ripsaw. I need the extra traction with the turbo. On hardpack the 1" worked well, but not worth a pinch in any kind of loose snow. I do however think a 136 1" would be great, especially with long studs. I had 192 1.50" Hornets, and on Ice and hardpack, it worked awesome. I had to add 1/4" flat stock aluminum to the existing protectors and didnt have any issues with studs hitting. Good luck.

I added a 136"x1" pred....predrilled 162...went with 1.175's...will be removing in off season for at least 1.325's and studding in the outside row...
love the track on the trail...decent enough when it gets loose....sled rotates easier in the turns in the loose..(I like this old style) where the rip didnt..

Really, I would have thought the 1.175's would have worked in the predator... I know the hacksaw needs more penetration, but I did not think the predator did.

track

I am running a 1" predator on a 07 apex gt with 1.375 gold diggers. 144 down the center. Hooks up very well and gained about 3 mph on top end over the 1 1/4" hacksaw.

ask the women..more is better...cant have too much penetration

I had a 1 inch hacksaw with 192 1.450 megabites and my sled slowed down, Woody's told me that it was taking to much power to remove and rotate a stud with that much penetration. The sled also slowed down on the groomed trail compared to the 1.25.

My APEX is down so I had the 02 SRX out that has a .875 with 192 1 inch studs. Riding with my friend on a 09 SKIDOO 800R in the am on the trail we were dead even and by pm after the trail loosened he would put 5 sleds on me. That evening on the lake with mostly ice I would crush him so I guess it just matters what your conditions are.

I would like the 136 on my Apex as well just do not have the funds. It would be nice if someone could radar with the stock track before the change to see what difference there is. I would think on trail the 136 would beat the 121 but not sure on a road or lake.

Well I went and did a radar run yesterday with mine set up.

The entire length of the run I had traction issues. However I do got 2800 miles on my studs, figure they are worn pretty good.
