Anyone else low on coolant?

I had to add coolant... It took a litre in total before it slowed down. Usually a couple hundred mls. at a time, add ride add again so on and so on.

Added a splash 3 times last year after initial fill, and once at the beginning of this season to keep it at the Cold mark on overflow. Since then over 1200 miles later the coolant level has not moved.

So I would say air was my culprit whereas I have never found any leaks and it is no longer using any.

Mine was surging hot and sounded like it was boiling last week, after a steady ride of 70 mph pulled over to check belt, but the coolant caught my attension first. My cold line coolant is always below but in sight, but when hot it still does not reach the cold line. Just remove hood, and coolant cap to add coolant? Is there any way air can get in when the coolant is still in bottle when we open to fill?

The clamps on these things are junk. They get heat cycled so much and then you snug them up and they strip.
Dan posted on the clamps that come up through tunnel. You MIGHT not see a leak if your storing in heated garage. Its the extreme heat cold cycle that causes leak/slight drips.

Mine often gurgles once stopped and shut off.

Every time I have checked my fluid, the rad was full, so just add fluid to the overflow tank. When cold, add to the cold line. I went a bit over that line at the beginning of this season and that is where it has finally stayed when checked cold.

Took a whole season (last season)to finally purge itself. This year it is staying full.

I've had to top mine up a few times since new. No sign of any leaks. I noticed after my last ride last season that my overflow was empty. I topped her up to the cold line and it's been fine all winter. Not sure what exactly is going on...

This problem is driving me crazy. Went out riding this weekend and down the trail it was icy and the sled was getting hot. Pulled over let it cool off everything looks good no leaks and bottle is right were it started. next day I go to ride I was looking over me sled and the coolant bottle is empty. No coolant anywhere on teh snow or in the sled. Fill it up and ride again. Half way through the day check it and still good. I have no idea where this mystery coolant is going bc it appears to be more random than anything. when I check it mid day I had done a ton of pulls wot to test clutching so sled was under max load a pile of times and no change. So odd.

I recently found another small coolant leak on a clamp.4800 miles. This is a spot that when it leaks/drips with heat cycles it drips down and burns up as its dripping onto engine area thats very hot. It may only leak when sled sits in very cold temps over night.. Then when you run sled it gets really hot and burns up drips. I could just see a slight green color around this clamp. The screw on hose clamp is orange in pics. This located on turbo side. DO NOT over tighten as these clamps get easily stripped after many hot cold cycles. I got maybe 1 1/2 turns on this one

In 4800 miles i found two that popped up. The one Dan mentions> upper tunnel area(the two clamps that holds a small piece of hose) and the one i mention above.. And BOTH of these especially the above post will be mystery leaks so to speak as the coolant can disappear with riding and heat

Mine has regular looking green Prestone in it. Same old same old.

Did some looking around today and finally found a clamp that had coolant on it. It was the one behind the turbo like mention a few posts back. Hopefully that solves it.
