I called Yamaha today, and they told me that there is no info on anyone getting a fan paid for, and that they were not issueing fans to anyone for free, nor arethey reimbursing anyone fr a fan they already bought.
Also asked about the suspension parts update for the rear skid. Also, they knew nothing about it.
I for one get frustrated with them. If the 08 phazer has the fan on it............................ I am gonna call back and pitch a way bigger fit!!!!
Anyone else call yamaha to look for money back on the fan kit?

I would like to thank frees-tyler for a great job on customer service. As he stated he would do in this thread, he has supplied me with a fan. I now have no worries in the heat department. Hats off to you buddy and thumbs down to Yamaha Canada. Come on Yamaha, don't offload your warranty issues on your dealers. Step up to the plate and cover these important issues. If your dealer loses business I'm betting your losing it to! Customer service is what keeps customers coming back, to the dealer and YAMAHA.

I get just as fustrated on every call I make into Yamaha. I think they are trained to say "we are unaware of _____ situation". Seems communication is lost somewhere between the customer...dealer...RTA and that customer technical center. Must not have internet connection either?
I just picked up the FX from it's third trip to the dealer in the past month. A fan is on back order, covered under warranty. Replaced the outer idler/guide wheels with the APEX replacements (8ES473104100 (factory tweaked...imagine that, guess it's not a stud issue after all Yamaha). Installed the tunnel panels to prevent the icing on the footboards, covered under warranty.
The long and short of it, don't scream...don't yell...DOCUMENT. For some reason, the customer is wrong in this situation, unless you DOCUMENT pen to paper and also take pictures.
They still have to address the massive amount of ice that collects in the tunnel area...two more years on the warranty. I've made it known to Yamaha and documented in my file. Strange everytime, they start with the company line about conditions...they do know these are snow machines right?

Hi my Phazer FX currently has 1500 miles on it and i am very disapointed in it. I recently purchased a nearly $200 dollar fan for my sled the stupid things still overheats. I just came back from a 19 mile ride and I had to tip the sled over on it's side FIVE TIMES. You are probably wondering what type of snow conditions I have been riding in this year. I live in the far north west corner of Minnesota where we have just shy THREE FEET of snow. Where I live, everyday we see the Polaris and Arctic-Cat riders and when they ask how I like the sled and I tell them that it was not made for powder they laugh at me. This has been a reoccuring problem throughout the whole year. When I have tried to contact YAMAHA they just try to down play the situation and blame it on the poor snow conditions which we kinda really don't have. I am going to call YAMAHA on Monday and DEMAND that they reimburse me on my fan. My screen name may be PHAZER PRIDE but I have lost all of my PRIDE IN YAMAHA!!!!!!

Phazer Pride, sorry to hear of your problems but you are not alone. Do a search on this forum and you will find loads of info on your problem. I'm guessing you have an air lock problem. If your up to it there is a bleed cap in front of the antifreeze resevoir. There is also a problem with antifreeze strength and some are adding water weter to help with cooling. If you have a fan you really shouldn't have a problem unless your rad is plugged or the fan is not operating. Do not give up although I know it is frustrating.

I bought a new Phazer GT 2 days ago. My first ride was yesterday and the overheat lite came on then eventually went off. Surfed the net this am and I see I'm not alone... I'll notify my dealer tomorrow (closed today) and hope it doesn't come during today's ride...

Chances are you'll still have problems. If the light comes on, just speed up. I found this will cool her down for awhile. Just have patience. After I got the break in period done my problems disappeared. I also changed the coolant but that actually didn't help at all.
Anyway don't fret too much about it....many of us have gone through this.

My Light also came on riding in loose snow I had to stop and reach my hand in front of the track by the heat exchanger and pull the snow down and drive about 20 feet and the light will turn off.

fan, fan, fan.it works, get your dealer to call yamaha and ask for a refund on a fan,my light only came on 3 times a while ago so instead of freaking out i bought the fan and my worries went away, yamaha came thru for me so they should for everyone imo

I have 700 miles and only time light came on was the first 100 miles if I stopped for a minute or more. I don't have the concern any more! It will create alot more heat when brand new!

Have never seen the light on my fx and back in november when I was breaking in we had really bad conditions with hard packed and ice in trails and sometimes tempratures above freeze.
