Anyone Purchase a 2017?

I do think something is lurking. The Sidewinder is an unreal machine, but the Apex faithful may have been heard for the 50th anniversary.....

I hope so, I got rid of both of my 2011 Apex's and got a Sidewinder this season, hoping a new 50th Apex is coming next season, if so, I will be all over it and add it to my 40th Apex!

I wonder if the Sidewinder can give me the long seat I need being I'm 6'2" and bad knees.. I can sit way back on the Apex... not tucked up front ...also don't want a turbo...seems much more expensive and not repair friendly with so many extra parts... the main thing is it smooth like the Apex? I ride my wifes 3 cyl Vector and no way is it as nice as my Attak.

I bet about 10 of them have been sold coast to coast. I own a 16 it seems like maybe 10 members on this site have one.

Last Feb 2016 during a 5 day ride I traded my 2014 Viper RTX piece of junk in along side the trail, had it for two years and nothing but Cat Crap related issues, this time mine blew the muffler and melted oil lines first day ($900 first day repair), second day my buddies exact same Viper backfired and destroyed the Stator, Flywheel and starter so he was out of the trip. My best friend was driving my old 2011 Apex XTX the best sled I ever owned in a long list of Apex's he was smiling with 11000kms on my/his worry free sled. The Yamaha mechanic told me in private that it was a matter of time before mine would do the same so I said screw that I'm going back to my trusty made in Japan real Yamaha Apex.

I bought the 2016 Grey and Blue Apex XTX with 1.75 track, I called my wife to warn her I was removing cash from our account in case she thought something odd, love that lady she never even asked or gave a crap what I was buying.

I have beaten the hell out of ever Apex and the only issue we have ever had was Donuts going who cares...

I will take my heavy out of date technology Apex that everyone cries about any day before I get stranded or need to be towed home.

All you 2016 and 2017 Apex XTX owners out there keep the faith because if it don't say made in Japan don't waste your money....

My old lady is the same after 37 yrs...love her.... they know that were good men..take care of them best we can.. The sidewinder is new and may pan out..but you are right about it being a solid trust worthy machine...

I do believe it will happen. A new all Yamaha made in Japan 4 cyl Apex for 2018. For the 50th. Keep the faith.
Look for announcement mid Feb.

I think yamaha is out of the game. I believe in a year or so they will only be an engine supplier to cat, and just only sell rebadged cats as yamaha's.
Look how many bought sidewinders and vipers. It seems the majority are satisfied with the american made so called yamaha's

I read a year or two back that the 2018 Apex engine will be changed to the new YXZ1000R side by side engine. I haven't heard anything new lately on this however.
