Found a set of these for $300.00 with brand new studboy shaper carbides. The skis have been used for 1 season. No scuffs or dings on them. What im wondering is if this is a good deal and if anyone has any feedback on the skis? Looking for a trail ski, but also like to do some powder riding when we get good snow in Iowa which is rarely. Any feedback on these??

I also have a set of XT's with Shaper bars. Flotation, steering response and pure steering grip is extreme. Though, unless you are snocrossing with a lot of studs in your track, the steering effort is just too much. For trail riding and free riding, I would pick a set of less extreme CA's, a set of SLP PP or the up to 2011 mountain ski.

I have not run the XTs, but do have the XTXs, which have a 1" keel vs a 1.5" keel, and love them. I have 6" studboy deuce bars on them, and don't find the steering effort too great. I'm not sure if this is because of my carbide selection or the shorter keel. You can't really beat the handling though! I paid 425 for mine with shipping and carbides brand new, so that may not be a bad deal. You could always mill the keel down a little to make them a little less aggressive.

I have these skis and second this statement. I swap them out occasionally from Apex to Nytro and do find it harder to adjust ski pressure on Nytro making it a bear to turn on hard packed. Couldn't ask for a better ski to play in the fluff, but you pay for it on hard packed. The XT's (not xtx)are about as aggressive as it gets compared to any skis.
I really like them for the Apex, but so far I wore out many pairs of gloves and a set of handlebar grips just because I work the bars so hard.

I have ran the XT's as well on my Nytro XTX and loved them for off trail.. Once you find your way onto hardpack trail they work great over stock skis but be ready to get a solid back workout.

The C&A XT's are the most aggressive SnowCross ski on the market. That is how C&A describes them themselves. A lot of SnowCross sleds race with them. I've heard they are just too aggressive for the trail.

The C&A XTX ski is the toned down XT ski. It is just as wide and has the same side keels. But the center keel is 1/2" shorter, which allows for much easier steering. Prob the better option for anything but actual racing.

Thanks for the feed back guys! I think im going to pass on these after some reviews. I think a less agressive c&a or the curve xs ski is more what im looking for!

Way to aggressive for the trail rider, save ur money and buy skydogs simmons etc.
